David Cohen is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist specializing in classical and flamenco guitar, Chinese pipa, Turkish oud, and the Highland bagpipes. Born in Philadelphia in 1961, David began his formal musical journey in 1976 after being inspired by the artistry of Joan Armatrading. A friends observation that her playing reflected the qualities of classical technique sparked his dedication to the guitaran influence that would shape his lifelong path as a performer, educator, and student of diverse musical traditions.
