The academy is professionally managed and is dedicated to the education and safety of the students. The management team of Tami, Maria, and Trish is friendly, and goes out of its way to support student success. Instructor Miss Isa is extremely knowledgeable and organized, and has a natural rapport with children. We drive a long way to go to the academy and its worth it! We couldnt be happier!

I can't say enough great things about Music and Dance Academy! My son has been taking piano lessons here with Mrs. Tamara, and his progress under her guidance has been truly remarkable. She is a dedicated and skilled teacher who has helped him become a more focused and confident player as he prepares for his Level 1 RCM exam.
The academy is home to many talented students, which is a testament to the incredible teachers who nurture and inspire them. The environment is supportive, professional, and filled with a love for music and the arts. If you're looking for high-quality music education, I highly recommend Music and Dance Academy! We have always had a positive experience with the teachers and the staff. My children have been attending this school since 2018 and during the Pandemic we continued online as the teachers and school were very accommodating. The staff is always super helpful in scheduling and answering questions and any updates are received in a timely manner. We have never experienced communication issues. Everyone is also super friendly and they make us feel comfortable.

I took piano lessons at the Music and Dance Academy starting when I was about 11, and I can say my teacher, Ms. Tamara, is one of the best. Her cheerfulness and patient attitude week after week were huge parts of what made my experience so positive. Though I didnt work with most of them personally, Im impressed by the Academys other instructors, as well, many of whom are at a professional level. It was a treat to see them come together with their students on performance days to share their work with the audience. At these performances, I felt supported by both them and staff, who do a great job managing the sometimes busy environment backstage, keeping track of students, and getting them to where they need to be in time to perform. As far as the curriculum of private lessons, theyre tailored to individuals, so almost any school age and skill level can benefit from them. If you choose to enroll your child, know that there are people here who care very much about music. Theres something valuable to be gained from that environment, even as a casual musician. And if you aspire to play more professionally, the Academy has the capacity to take you quite a ways if you make your motivation clear. My time here was a blessing. Again, Im so grateful for Ms. Tamara and her help in preparing me to take piano at the university level.

Our kid joined the music fun time class when she was 3. The class has been an amazing balance of learning, discipline, play and fun. The kid has learned so much and the lessons have helped with her development.

We love Music and Dance academy. The team of instructors are so knowledgeable and very helpful. We started with music fun time at 3years old and continued with Piano practice and my boy has advanced so much since then. We have done so many recitals and performances now that he is 7 and looking forward for the next step of competitions. I would recommend it to anyone that likes to learn music no matter the age.

My daughter has been attending Music & Dance Academy since January 2023. She started with and is still taking tap and ballet. She loves it! She looks forward to going to each class, especially with Miss Giulia! On days she has dance her eyes shine in anticipation. While shes expressed this semester being more challenging, she has risen to the challenge and has improved so much. And shes having so much fun. Shes always eager to show the family her new moves or dance.
Music & Dance Academy has an amazing, encouraging, and friendly staff. We always feel welcomed upon entering the building and cant imagine being at any other studio. We look forward to many more years here watching Aubrey become a beautiful dancer.

My daughter has been a piano and ballet student at this school for about 2.5 years. I highly recommend this school! The staff is amazing and helpful, the teachers are top notch, and I can see the level of my students abilities grow with every lesson!
There are ample opportunities for growth and development and lots of chances to perform in front of an audience to get their nerves out, if that is a concern. Of course the performances are optional but encouraged. This truly is a welcome and friendly community !

I have been personally attending the Adult Flute classes with Dr. Reedy for about two years now, and am very pleased with my lessons. I chose to take lessons as I wanted to improve my flute playing ability and grow my confidence. Needless to say, Dr. Reedy has been able to help me reach those goals. Although I attend her meetings through Zoom, many can chose an in person method for themselves. I have enjoyed virtual as it fits my busy work schedule and will continue to attend her classes as she is very kind, patient, dedicated to your growth/goals, and willing to go above and beyond. She has helped me everywhere from learning the basics to pushing me out of my comfort zone. I also have enjoyed working with the office staff as they always ensure every person regardless of age or background feels welcome and comfortable when you interact with them.

We are only one month into lessons and our nine year old has learned so much. Tamara our violin teacher is wonderful. Im excited to see what our boy will learn in the first year with his violin studies! Also, Tami who usually answers the phone and our questions has been pleasant to speak with and helpful. definitely recommend Mysic and Dance academy.

I have been taking lessons here since I was six years old, Im 18 now, and over those past 12 years I have learned an invaluable skill, playing the piano. It is with the help of all the teachers who have taught me over the years, especially Mrs. Tiskevich, that I have been able to learn and play the piano. I truly honestly say that I am truly grateful for the invaluable lessons and information that has been handed down to me over the years. I would recommend anyone who wants to learn an instrument or dance to attend the Music and Dance Academy.

As a music student at the Academy, I have had a really good experience and grown a lot as a musician. My teacher takes a lot of time to help me with my technique, musicality, and choosing music to help me grow. Through the school I have gotten many opportunities to perform and compete with my instrument, which is a great experience for someone looking into making music their career. The staff and teachers clearly care about students and their success.

So Dr. Jarrett is my vocal coach and she is amazing. I wanted to actually learn to sing and not just a few songs. My previous place didnt want to teach me the science or technique behind it but Dr J is a stalwart in making sure you know what youre doing and why youre doing it and how the body does it.
I wanted to get back to singing as an adult because I used to be in choir and was a good singer, well 18 years and some combat tours later, I have some hearing loss and other issues, but Dr J has been gradually getting me to hear correct pitch and match it again and Im no longer scared to learn something I thought was going to be impossible to relearn.
I highly recommend coming here if you want to learn vocal technique and improve your vocal quality.
Make a joyful noise and sing. Its good for your soul. Adults dont be scared! We can all learn!

We have been with the Academy for 15 years. It provided us with many wonderful teachers. My son has learned great violin techniques which will benefit him for his whole life. Also, he enjoys playing. Every year the academy hosts several concerts to let students connected with each other and performed. Group lessons are also offered for students to play together. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is truly a great place to learn music.

My family has been with the Music and Dance Academy for close to five years now, and it is easy to envision that well be there for at least another five. The office staff is friendly and professional, and the teachers are highly qualified and experienced. My wife is taking classical guitar lessons, and my son started piano under the Suzuki method when he was six years old (with me as the designated parent). It has been our experience that the instructors are quite competent at tailoring the lessons to the individual student, whether child or adult. For example, from the beginning, my sons instructor supplemented the Suzuki material with regular sight-reading and basic theory-building activities, which has given him a solid musical foundation. Now almost eleven, my son has significantly developed his ability to play the keyboard with feeling and with appropriate technique. And his memory is now pretty sharp, too, which helps him quite a bit at school. And it hasnt taken any herculean effort just a modest amount of daily practice. Thanks to our positive experience at the Music and Dance Academy, music is as much a part of our daily life as is reading.

My son, husband, and I all currently attend the Music & Dance Academy for flute lessons, and our son previously received top-notch violin lessons there as well. We are so grateful for the excellent teaching, the effective communication from the staff, and the variety of performance opportunities. We truly appreciate learning music via the Suzuki method, which is by far the most effective way for each of us to learn (my husband and I have learned other instruments via standard teaching methods in the past). My daughter has been taking dance at Music and Dance Academy since she was 3 years old, she is now 7. I absolutely love this schools philosophy and approach to teaching. They place a high value not only on teaching technique and etiquette, but a love of music and dance as well.
The faculty and staff are absolutely amazing. They are dedicated and sincere in their efforts to teach children. They will all go out of their way to make sure your experience is truly wonderful.

Very pleased!! My now 9 year-old daughter had taken ballet classes for 3 years in Oregon at an incredible studio before we moved to Tucson a year-and-half ago, we hated to leave her prior studio but thought we'd be able to find something similar here in Tucson. We looked and looked, she even tried two other ballet studios for a while; nothing we found was of the caliber she had been in and we were getting rather discouraged. Then we found the Music and Dance Academy here in Oro Valley; finally, a studio that upholds a high-level of professionalism yet is laid-back and treats us as family, has excellent instructors who know how to teach and obviously have a passion for both dance and teaching, and just portray an overall aspect of warmth, encouragement and love for the students. I will say, we were picky; we had prior experience and expectations that were going to be very hard to live up to. So I'm very happy to say that we can fully endorse the Music and Dance Academy. I just wish we'd have found this studio first before we went through some of the competition in the area.

Our son started piano lessons (Suzuki method) here at 3 and a half. He is now 11 and is still really enjoying his lessons, his piano teacher, as well as the more advanced pieces of music he is now playing. This school has a group of highly qualified music teachers, many of whom currently also play professionally (i.e. with the Tucson Symphony orchestra). Over the years our son has had many opportunities to perform solo and at different venues, from concert halls at the U of A to retirement homes in different parts of town. What I as parent think is particularly valuable about this school is that it is NOT an intensely competitive environment. Rather, it is a nurturing and collaborative environment where the children are encouraged to work together and learn from one another. This is especially apparent during their holiday ensemble concert where there are no solo performances and instead there are duets, quintets, and sometimes as many as half the school of young music students performing beautiful pieces of music together. This music and dance academy serves as a great reminder of how music is meant to bring us together. In the process, they produce excellent young musicians.
