Violin instruction at LAAPA is structured to suit learners from age five through adulthood, with flexible lesson durations and styles. Whether your focus is classical, bluegrass, or jazz, our instructors adapt each lesson to your pace and aspirations. Complementary enrichment labs enhance the experience and foster community. Lessons are available both on campus and virtually to fit your schedule. 
LAAPA's drum program is designed to help students become versatile percussionists by mastering both fundamental skills and diverse musical styles. With lessons available for kids, teens, and adults, we offer flexible scheduling and supportive instruction. Our experienced teachers guide students through techniques, theory, and performance preparation. Enrichment classes further enhance musical growth in a collaborative setting. 
Our ballet program fosters confidence, grace, and discipline in students of all levels, starting at age four. Each class integrates ballet fundamentals with age-appropriate technique and choreography. Students perform at recitals held twice a year to highlight their growth. Led by skilled instructors, lessons are available both online and at our dance campuses throughout the year. 
We invite students ages 7 and up to build acting skills in a structured, yet fun atmosphere led by working professionals. Our curriculum spans classic and modern methods, preparing actors for film and theater. Regular performances ensure students apply their learning in real settings. Advanced levels offer leadership opportunities in production and direction for serious performers. 
We provide a well-rounded Musical Theater education featuring expert instruction in vocal performance and dance technique. Our classes emphasize teamwork, creativity, and individual growth, with a repertoire spanning classic and contemporary musical theater pieces. Enrollment is capped to ensure each student receives ample attention, and students regularly showcase their talents in fully produced mainstage performances. 
Guitar lessons begin as early as age 6 and we teach students on both acoustic and electric guitar! 
Voice and Singing lessons are offered for students beginning at age 5 and are available in many different styles of music. Kids, teens, and adults from brand new beginners through advanced level students will love working with our talented and friendly music instructors!

I love the Teacher we have been working with, Ryan. He is so patient with my child and teaches him so many amazing new skills. I do wish they had better make up classes for LAAPA. The make up classes are boring to my child because they are an hour long and all they learn is music notes. I also kinda wish they had more than just a couple recitals or something else for the kids to look forward to in order to perform what they have been learning in class. Other then that we enjoy it here and we love all of the teachers, but our favorite by far is Mr. Ryan!

We are beyond grateful for Mr. Ryan Kintz, who has been an exceptional piano teacher for our two children. Their dedication, patience, and passion for music shine through in every lesson, making learning both fun and inspiring. We cannot say enough good things about our experience at LAAPA. We enrolled our son in their acting program, and he has thrived ever since. Not only has he discovered that acting is his "thing", but through the program he has also improved in his confidence, reading ability, and memorization. His instructor, Nicoli, has been ABSOLUTELY amazing, and knows how to push and encourage his students in the very best way. Can't recommend enough!

I was a student at LAAPA for about 10 years and took both piano and violin lessons. During my time there, I had multiple instructors, but Dr. Vera Zholondz-Koonz has made a lasting impact on me. For my last couple years at LAAPA, I took both piano and violin lessons with her. Her patience, welcoming nature, and passion to help her students was immediately evident. She has supported me in my abilities both musically and personally, and I can contribute her to how far I have come. Now Im in grad school, and I still go to my violin and piano to destress. I couldnt have done it without her! 5/5 stars for Dr. Vera!

Have experience playing but always wanted to finally understand the concepts and terms of music theory. Found the perfect instructor Ryan Tingle. Ryan has in depth solid knowledge of theory with broad professional practical experience across multiple instruments. At lot of basic didactics at the keyboard plus we work through pieces of music and discuss what's happening - meters, chord types and progressions, harmonic progressions (including physics lessons), scale modes, etc. Never quite know what we're going to discuss at a lesson, spent 45 minutes discussing electric guitar effects one evening, but it's always immersive and intellectually rewarding. I may even get around to learning how to play better but that can wait.

Wonderful school for all ages. As an adult beginner I was concerned when I started but everyone is so kind and helpful, I quickly got over it. I take piano and voice lessons with Carter who is just an absolute treasure of a human. Hes very knowledgeable, open to discussion to understand your goals, and willing to learn new songs himself if your tastes in music are a little quirky. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Loving my adult dance classes with Allison! I started with Hip Hop and Contemporary about 6 weeks ago and loved that class so much I added Ballet. I love that its a real dance class with real skill development and see myself getting better each week. There are people of all ages and the instructor does a great job of teaching to all of our skill levels.

The best performing arts school in Louisiana! I had been searching for acting classes for my 15 year old daughter for a few months, until I stumbled into LAAPA. I decided to have my daughter try a lesson, and frankly, it has been the best decision I could ever make. Ten months later, and 4 performance later, my daughter is thriving both academically and socially. I completely attribute that to Mr. Nicoli, who is an incredible acting teacher, and inspires his students to be and do great! And also to her wonderful classmates (whom are all outstandingly talented) and have accepted her into their group.

My 5-year-old has been taking piano lessons with Sean at Mandeville School of Music and Dance LAAPA for the past few months. We are so happy with Seans approach and enthusiasm when interacting with our son, and we are impressed with the progress our son has made in his time with Sean. Sean is patient, kind and encouraging and our son looks forward to his weekly lessons. I highly recommend Sean for anyone who wants to get his/her child started in piano lessons!

Mr. Corey is my daughter's piano teacher at Mandeville school of Music.
My daughter can be very shy when working with people she doesnt know, but Mr. Corey definitely has a gift in teaching children music and has made her completely comfortable! Mr. Corey is very knowledgeable, patient, and has great teaching techniques. I watch when my daughter makes a mistake and noticed he always finds away to point out something positive which helps to build her confidence. Learning a new instrument can be tough, but Mr. Corey has made it easy for my daughter and she absolutely loves going to her lessons. She has learned so much and has caught on so much faster than I could have imagined! She is six years old and is developing a great passion for the piano. My daughter takes voice and piano lessons with Ms. Carolyn and Musical Theatre with Ms. Mary. She is 8 years old and quite dramatic. Her teachers are great with her high energy. Her classes keep her engaged and she has made some great friends. In just three months my daughter has learned to read music, understand tone and timing and is ready to shuffle ball change at anywhere.

Absolutely love this place. Always wanted to learn to play piano but was afraid I would be too old to start and I was assured I was not. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and make you feel like part of a family. The new facilities are amazing as well. I highly recommend, no matter your age, if you have an interest in any musical instrument or singing to check them out. I had so much fun with my instructor, Jennifer, every week that I changed from a 30 minute to a 45 minute lesson every week.
