Professional Guitar Lessons and Music Production in Atlanta
With over five decades of professional musical experience, I have dedicated my career to mastering and teaching guitar while creating diverse musical collaborations. My journey began in 1960 on Long Island, NY, where I developed a passion for guitar through exposure to Hispanic rhythms and classic rock. Over the years, I have performed in multiple genres including jazz, blues, rock, and gospel, while teaching hundreds of students in the Atlanta area for more than 35 years. My expertise extends to music ministry, where I have served for over 25 years, blending technical proficiency with spiritual expression. I offer personalized in-person and online lessons tailored to all skill levels, from beginners to professional players, and provide high-quality on-demand video resources for flexible learning. My work includes recording collaborations with artists like Erin Reilly and developing Christian musicians for church service, reflecting both artistic excellence and a commitment to community. I hold a deep understanding of music theory and history, gained through formal study and decades of practice, and I prioritize clear communication and ethical instruction in all my teaching and creative endeavors.

I have had a great time learning the guitar with Jimmy Cruz. He is personable, patient and above all else, one heck of a teacher. His teaching method works well for me as an adult learner and I always look forward to my next lesson. Sometimes it's the highlight of the week :-

Jim Cruz is a phenomenal guitar instructor. My daughter has been taking lessons for 2 years and she thoroughly enjoys her lesson each week. It's VERY apparent that Mr Cruz has a true love for teaching guitar. Jim Cruz comes highly recommended!
