Joyful Sound Piano Studio has been dedicated to piano education for over four decades, founded by Joy Gilmore, a certified piano teacher with a Bachelor's degree in piano performance and church music. Our studio combines Joy's extensive experience as a church musician, educator, and composer to create a unique learning environment that emphasizes both technical skill and emotional connection to music. Event Performances
Professional piano performances for weddings, corporate events, and special occasions. Services include ceremony music, cocktail hour entertainment, and reception performances. Children can begin private piano lessons at age 5. We offer group lessons for children under 4 that focus on foundational music skills through engaging activities.

What performance opportunities are available?

Lessons operate on a monthly flat fee with four 30-minute sessions. Payment is due on the first lesson of each month, plus a one-time $20 registration fee.

My 9yo son started working with Ms. Joy in May 2021. Initially, he did not like piano because it required him to use a new set of skills. He also has trouble focusing for an extended time. Joy is patient, kind, and very encouraging. Now, my son looks forward to working with her. Most of all, I love Joy's gentle spirit.

Joy is an AMAZING instructor. I'm an busy adult with a few active travel lifestyle and tried her hardest to work with my schedule. I've never played the piano (or any instrument) before so I was a complete novice. I've made amazing progress thanks to 11 months working with Joy. I HIGHLY recommend having Joy as your instructor.

May 19th, 2019, I was invited to s. Joy's amazing piano recital. I was so pleasantly surprised to what I experienced that day. I have been to many piano recitals in my past years and never have I saw an over head screen projector showing beautiful moving pictures as the students are playing their lovely pieces of music. The second surprise was when I saw Ms. Joy going to the piano playing the most beautiful music I have ever heard.
In the beginning of her program and at the end. The 3rd blessing of the day with Ms. Joy was when she passed out gold trophies and piano shaped cookies. Ms. Joy is one of the most humble and honest professionals I have ever met. I was greatly uplifted and encouraged to see the true love of God in the world of professional music.

My son has been playing piano with Ms. Joy for the past 5 years! Ms. Joy is absolutely A W E S O M E! Even though it's about an hour drive each way for piano lessons, we don't mind the drive, because Ms. Joy has been such a great contributor to our son's growth - musically, academically, and otherwise. Ms. Joy has played piano for over 25 years. While that's a very long time, it's noteworthy to mention, that she has a knack for being to translate her knowledge into valuable education for anyone at any level to get better at learning the piano!

Best piano teacher! Ms. Joy Gilmore is a wonderful teacher that loves what she does! My child is 7 years old and has been taking lessons for past few years. She has learned a lot and continues to make tremendous progress. She has also placed superior rating in national federation twice. Awesome teacher, very engaged and highly recommended for children!

Mrs. Joy is a wonderful instructor. As an older student she is very knowledgeable and patient while working with the differences in learning between children and adults. I have been with her for about six months now and look forward to our sessions every week. In addition to being a great instructor she is a wonderful person that makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Keep up the good work Mrs. Joy!

Ms. Joy has been an amazing piano teacher for my eight year old daughter's. I am very impressed with the progress that they made each year. This is our third year with her program and I would recommend her to any new family for lessons.

The best piano studio in the South Fulton area. The owner/instructor is a talented, professional, patient and caring woman. Your child would love playing music and will do well. Ms. Joy will expose your child to National Federation Music club. My daughter started at the age of 6, she is now 14 years old and looks forward to going to piano lessons weekly. Her lessons rates are the best! I recommend this studio to any parent whose looking for quality music lessons.

Ms. Joy has been not only a wonderful piano teacher, but she's playful and a warm instructional expert. She motivates my twin 6 year old daughter's to musical mastery. They've rayed 'superior' two year in a row at the Geargia piano federation. You will not find a piano instructor that equals Ms. Joy's talent for inspiring the music in your children.

Joy Gilmore w/ Joyful Sound Piano Studio is exactly what Ive been looking for in a piano instructor. The lessons are structured to teach you proper technique and tips for what works best for the individual student. I spoke to other piano instructors prior to committing to Ms. Gilmore. However, after one conversation I was certain I found the right instructor. Ms. Gilmore is very easy to work with and she also has a wide assortment of books/tools/exercises/games to assist with learning to play the piano. Great instructor. You will not be disappointed.
