We are Nix Works, the artistic enterprise of musician and instrument designer Michael Nix. We specialize in performances on the Banjar, a seven-string classical banjo of our own design, as well as classical guitar, banjo, lute, and mandolin. Our concert appearances span the United States and Asia, bringing diverse repertoire to international audiences. We have recorded for the PBS series American Experience, numerous independent documentaries, and multiple CD projects including Barton Cove and Preludes, Airs and Dances. Our original compositions are performed worldwide and have been featured on NPR programs such as Weekend Edition.
