Thames Valley Music School

Established in 1979, Thames Valley Music School has been a cornerstone of musical education in Southeastern Connecticut for over four decades. Our institution is dedicated to fostering a lifelong appreciation of music through personalized instruction and collaborative performance opportunities. Located on the prestigious campus of Connecticut College in New London, CT, we offer private lessons in piano, stringed and wind instruments, percussion, voice, and music theory. Our programs extend to ensembles for all ages and abilities, including the acclaimed Thames Valley Youth Symphony, which provides advanced students with high-quality orchestral experiences. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we prioritize accessibility, offering scholarships to ensure music education remains available to all students regardless of financial constraints.

Our commitment to inclusivity is unwavering, as we actively cultivate a community that celebrates diversity and rejects discrimination in all forms. Through partnerships with institutions like The Williams School, we expand our reach to serve students in grades 6-12. Our mission remains clear: to provide exceptional musical instruction while nurturing artistic growth and community bonds. With a faculty of experienced educators and performers, we continue to uphold our reputation as one of New England's premier music schools. Our seasonal calendar features performances in December and May, showcasing the talents of our students and faculty. By combining tradition with innovation, we strive to inspire future generations of musicians and music lovers.
