St Francis Music Center has been nurturing artistic talent in central Minnesota since 1979. Founded as a community music school, we offer comprehensive instruction in piano, strings, voice, band instruments, and more, serving students of all ages through personalized lessons and ensemble opportunities. Our faculty of 17 professional instructors brings decades of combined experience to programs ranging from early childhood music classes to advanced orchestral training. We maintain four string orchestras, two chorales, and specialized ensembles that perform regularly at Sacred Heart Chapel. Accredited by the Minnesota State Arts Board, we provide financial aid covering 50% of tuition costs through grants and private donations.Our facility includes a music shop offering instrument rentals, sheet music, and educational materials selected by the Minnesota Music Teachers Association. Music Lessons

String Orchestras
Four-tier orchestral program accommodating all skill levels from beginners to advanced players. Includes Sonata, Mezzo, Maestoso, and Chamber orchestras with weekly rehearsals and biannual performances at Sacred Heart Chapel. Directed by experienced faculty members Melissa von Itter and Amanda Jansen.
Dance Classes
Comprehensive dance education for ages 3 and up covering multiple styles and techniques. Classes emphasize artistic expression, physical coordination, and performance skills. Programs include both recreational and pre-professional tracks for serious students seeking advanced training.
Community Chorale
Free public choirs open to all skill levels featuring community and youth chorales. Participants rehearse and perform diverse musical repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary works. Regular performances showcase the talents of both adult and young singers.
Instrument Rentals
Affordable monthly rental program for musical instruments including violins, guitars, keyboards, and percussion equipment. Rental fees start at $3/month for cellos, with all rentals including tax. Instruments available for students participating in our lesson programs.
