Piano/Voice/Guitar Teachers Needed

Piano Lessons In Your Home is a professional music school dedicated to providing excellent instruction to students of all ages. We believe that studying music for many years plays an integral part in developing a person’s intellect, character, talent and overall ability to be successful. The school provides lessons in the students’ homes and hosts recitals in venues around Raleigh. This August marks our 15th Anniversary.

Currently we are seeking talented and personable applicants who are interested in becoming part of our long-term staff. Selected applicants would begin teaching this fall and must be comfortable working with both serious students as well as those who need a more relaxed and recreational approach to learning.

While we recognize that there are many talented musicians in the area, please do not apply unless you meet or exceed the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Performance, Music Education, Pedagogy, Composition or Theory
• 3 years minimum of teaching consistent private lessons.
• Experience teaching beginner to intermediate level students
• Experience preparing students for studio recitals.
• Experience performing as a soloist or in ensembles.
• Experience performing and playing/singing classical and popular music

*Teachers who teach beginner to advanced level students and who have prepared students for festivals and competitions are strongly encouraged to apply.

• Raleigh

Hired teachers must be willing to accept a minimum of ten students. Instructors arrange their own teaching schedules and define the specific geographical areas where they can teach. Reliable transportation and a two-year contractual commitment are expected. Teachers are paid based on their formal education, experience and the number of students they teach. We have graduated pay rates so there is room for growth. PLIYH has a Continuing Education Program that offers free courses, workshops, and concerts. We also have a music book store and a
Lending Library for teachers and families.
