⦁ Dynamic teacher (and seasoned working professional) offers one-on-one lessons for BEGINNERS, INTERMEDIATES and PROs at AFFORDABLE RATES.

⦁ (solo) PRACTICE TIME--ON MY DRUMS--is also available, affordably, to students who do not have a way to practice. My drums are a 6-piece Yamaha studio kit, tuned to sound great. They are NOT the "boinky" sounding little jazz kits that so many teachers make beginners suffer on.

⦁ I have been teaching both privately and in schools in NYC since 1993, and I teach out of my private studio (w/ THREE DRUMSETS!) in The Music Building (38th. & 8th ave.) . It's a huge space with 'stage lighting', air-conditioning and heat. Also, it is conveniently located by virtually every train. (House calls are also available at a higher rate.)

⦁ In my lessons I emphasize READING DRUM MUSIC (I will teach you) . I combine snare drum studies--RUDIMENTS/EXERCISES, METRONOME PRACTICE and GRIP (matched or traditional) --along with drum set studies--HANDS AND FEET--techniques. I also focus on GROOVE/INDEPENDENCE practice and PLAYING ALONG WITH MUSIC--both your favorite CDs as well as my original sequenced music written for students. For professionals and more advanced students, one of my specialties is soloing vocabulary (check out YOUTUBE / MYSPACE.)

⦁ Some of my past and present students include not only well-known drummers, but several celebrities as well, including NYC Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, NY Times' Best-Selling author Koren Zailckas, and actors Eric Thal and (currently) Haley Joel Osment.
