I teach all ages, all levels from beginners to advanced. I teach the Suzuki method plus Celtic, Bluegrass, Blues, and Jazz. I also teach viola, and mandolin. I play in the Sierra College Orchestra plus I am in a gypsy jazz band that plays standard jazz tunes in the style of Django Rheinhardt and Stephane Grapelli. I have had about 30 years of experience teaching and I really enjoy it. Lessons are taught at my beautiful studio at Clock Tower Records Store. Upstairs in the back.

Violin Lessons by Denise "Nici" van Kriedt
I started playing as a young girl. My first teacher was my father, Dave van Kriedt. He was a jazz musician and recorded, and played with many big named musicians including Brubeck, Desmond, and Stan Kenton. My advanced teacher was Louis Ford of the San Francisco Symphony (retired many years ago). I've been teaching since I was a teenager, and have developed teaching techniques to help with intonation (staying in tune), bowing, good tone etc. I moved from San Francisco to the Grass Valley quite a while ago, and have played with many different ensembles. I have played in trios, quartets for weddings and parties. I have been in celtic, bluegrass, country rock, middle eastern, and now a gypsy jazz band. I enjoy teaching very much.
