In love. I been going here for almost 2 months and it just feels so familiar and new and exciting every visit. I have improved in my vocals so much thanks to my teacher Sherry! she's so enthusiastic, kind, passionate, and educated on her crafts. I am someone with HUGE anxiety but I am telling you coming here you will not feel that sense. I've already improved so much it's honestly scary.

Sad that it's once a week and 30 minute sessions but that's totally acceptable and appropriate but it's honestly so dope you'd wanna be here 24/7 cause you learn and have fun at the same time. Covid-19 protocols are in place and safe staff are vaccinated and wear masks. While singing with Sherry we both maintain distance as much as possible and wear clear face shields they have plenty provided as well due to being able to see vocal technique and to hear clearly so that is not a worry. Not to mention it is a clean space and is affordable for families. I love it here

This state-of-the-art facility is efficiently and professionally run and maintained, and all current health and safety guidelines are well in place and practiced. It's a work space that any artist and technician can walk into with confidence, and know that whatever the goal at hand is, be it lessons or recording sessions, the outcome is bound to be successful.

If you're thinking about getting into music, DSRP rocks. The staff are super kind and willing to work with any level of musician. I had never held a guitar prior to my first class and they make approaching music a lot less intimidating than I thought it would be. Ray is my guitar teacher and I would highly recommend him. He has given me insight into music theory, but made the topic manageable for me with my available time to play. Highly recommend DSRP is you're looking to get into music.

Absolutely the best around! Jason, Sherry, Mike, and all the mentors at DSRP are fantastic. Our son started with their Summer Rocks! summer camp in 8th grade and continued with lessons until graduating from High School. The time and attention that he received from DSRP is invaluable, and Jason even helped us apply for aid from the Live The Music Foundation to assist us in keeping his lessons going when we couldn't afford it on our own. Today, he is pursuing a career as a professional musician and has many opportunities open to him thanks in large part to the training, mentoring, and connections he received at DSRP. I can't say enough good things about them. Thank you Jason, Sherry, Mike and everyone at DSRP! You all rock!

We love the DSRP! My boys have excelled so much since they began taking lessons and joined a band 3 years ago. We drive an hour each week from Grosse Ile and it is definitely worth it!

My son has been going to the Detroit School of Rock and Pop since he was 7 years old. He is now a senior in high school and an incredible musician and singer as a result of the amazing jobs His teachers and mentors did at DSRP. His band has played all over the city and he's experienced live broadcasts and wonderful events full of interesting people.

The support he received through this program not only helped him grow artistically, but as a person as well. Shout out to Julie, Rocco, Jason, and Sherry for helping to guide Cole in his musical career. He has loved every minute of it and we have too. God bless this awesome school!

DSRP is the musical 'glue' of Royal Oak! Both my kids have been taking lessons for years with Julie and Steve and both are awesome. They have a knack for sneaky teaching, making the kids better while they don't even know it! When my son came home and asked to listen to and play Rolling Stones tunes, I knew we were at the right palace. Thanks DSRP for all the cool stuff you do!

I have personally played gigs with many teenagers who came out of this program and they play like professionals, with top-notch proficiency and excellent attitudes! I recommend this place more than any other in the Metro Detroit area!

The Summer Rocks! program at The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music is great for kids that are interested in music and want to play music with other kids. I sent my son there last summer, and will again this summer, and he learned about many different aspects of music. He learned about music theory, how to practice, how to learn songs quickly, how to play with other kids in a band, and about recording in a recording studio.

The kids even went on tour last year to the Hard Rock Hall of Fame and Cedar Point, and this year they are going on tour to Nashville and Memphis, which should be a lot of fun.

The Motor City Horns are giving lessons at the Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music, which is great for people that want to take horn lessons. They have played with some very well known musicians and if you happen to see Bob Seger on his upcoming tour, they will be playing with him. They offer trumpet, trombone, saxophone, and other winds lessons. There is also the possibility for some horn students to be placed in the student and adult bands.

The Summer Rocks summer camp program at the Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music is a good time for all the kids that attend. I sent my son to their camp and he had a ton of fun while he was there. The kids were set up in bands and got to learn a ton of songs together, while becoming really good friends over those three weeks and they still stay in contact with each other now that camp has been over.

The kids went on several field trips such as the Motown Museum, a recording studio and they went on a tour to Cedar Point and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the end of the summer.

With the beginning of the New Year coming up, I resolved that I should follow my life-long dream of being a musician. I decided to go over to the Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music and sign up to take lessons and join a band with other adult musicians. I hadn't played in a long time, but it was easy to pick back up and play some songs with a band, which I had never done before.

The transition back into playing was very easy because of the support of the DSRP staff and other people I play with. It has been less than a month, but it has been a ton of fun to play in a band.

The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music has a very interesting way of teaching their students that helps to keep them focused on learning, which is why we chose to take our son there to further his musical knowledge. With their band program, they allow kids to pick the songs they want to play and the directors and teachers help them learn via those songs.

We felt that our son would lose interest in classical lessons and that learning from songs he enjoys listening to would be a great way to keep him interested in music and become a better musician.

We decided to take our daughter to the Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music because we believe that she would benefit most from learning from songs she likes. Everyone at the DSRP has been very accommodating with our schedule, which goes far beyond what most places have done for us in the past. They have a great band program also, that gives students a chance to play with other children with similar aspirations. They even schedule concerts locally so the bands have a chance to play on stage in front of an audience.

I had the opportunity to take my daughter and several of her friends to The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music on a field trip this past month. We all learned about the different types of instruments and learned about how recording audio is achieved. The kids even got to record a song they picked out and it was so much fun to observe the process. The staff of the Detroit School of Rock and Pop were nice and knowledgeable and most importantly, the kids had a lot of fun recording and learning about the instruments.

My son is taking bass lessons at The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music and really likes being there. He really likes his teacher, who has really helped his playing become a lot better. I can't remember his name, but he has played on numerous tours all over the world and been on TV multiple times. My son also plays with other kids in a band at the DSRP, and that helps him stay focused with his practicing.

The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music has a really great summer camp. They play as a group almost all day and learn music theory. All of the kids in the camp went to the recording studio where Eminem records. They even had a barbecue at the end of the camp. The kids also got to make a music video, which is online on Youtube so they can share it with family and friends.

All of the kids from the summer camps got to go on a Tour to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Cedar Point. The Summer Rocks camp is a great value because The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music teaches so much to the kids.

The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music is a glorious institution at which one can learn to play an instrument. My daughter is progressing quicker here than at any other teaching school we have been. Also, my daughter is learning to play with other young musicians in a band. Playing in a band has kept her interested in bettering herself and practicing.

The staff members are all professional musicians and it shows through their teaching. The kids also play at numeruos festivals throughout the summer and other concerts during the year, which is a tremendous experience for them.

My son is a student at The Detroit School Of Rock And Pop Music and loves taking lessons there. All of the teachers are passionate professionals and love teaching music. My son learns to play better and learns what it is like to play with other kids in a band. They're slogan, "Stop Practicing... Start Performing," is a refreshing take on music lessons compared to the other places my son has taken lessons.

They play concerts all around the area and that really keeps my son motivated to play well. This is a fantastic place to learn to play an instrument and learn to play in a band.
