You're most likely viewing my website because you're wanting to start playing one of the string instruments that I teach. Let me, as a possible teacher for you, be the first to congratulate you on your decision to study this art. Should you take lessons from me, it will be my goal to teach you not only how to play, but how you can have fun playing. I hope to not only be your instructor, but also a musical friend.

String Teacher, Elisha Rose

Teacher

In December of 2004, I, Elisha Rose, was given my first violin for Christmas. In November of 2006, I bought my first cello and began teaching myself, later taking lessons from Stuart Hake in the summer of 2007. Back then, Mr. Hake was Principle Cellist for the Tacoma Symphony and is now a cellist for Tacoma Opera.

In December of 2007, I joined the Lakewood Community Orchestra, a local group of community musicians under Paul Dorwin, who played at public venues in the Lakewood/Tacoma area. Unable to stay with them as I pursued education at Tacoma Community College (TCC), I now play for the TCC Chamber Orchestra under Dr. John Falskow, which performs three times a year on the TCC campus. With them I've played: Schumannís 4th Symphony, Mozartís Magic Flute (segments), Tchaikovskyís 2nd Symphony, Beethovenís 5th and 7th Symphony, Brahms' Hungarian Dances, and Dvorak's 8th Symphony.

In September of 2011, I enrolled at Pensacola Christian College (PCC) as a Cello Music Major. Not only did I receive college level training on the cello, but I also took lessons on viola. Later, I began playing upright bass in the Sunday night church orchestra. I play cello in the PCCymphony, which has played Beethoven Symphony No. 8, Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5, and has also performed in musical Productions of "The H.M.S. Pinafore" and "The Mikado" (both by Gilbert and Sulivan.) Though I have experience in all four instruments of the string family, my main proficiency is cello. My senior cello recital is scheduled for the Spring Semester of 2015 at Pensacola Christian College.
