Call
Stonegrove Guitar Stonegrove Guitar - closed due to the Pandemic. Thanks for your support all these years. Max is still performing repairs remotely, call/text to set up a consultation: 708-588-0777. Stonegrove was opened in 2002 to provide musical support to the local community. It was quickly discovered how much of a demand for education there was, and lessons have been a huge part of the operation ever since.

While we sell both new and used instruments, we also focus heavily on repairs and customization. No matter where you're at with music, we want to help you accomplish your goals.
Services
We perform a wide variety of maintenance and repairs at our store, from restrings to rewires! Includes a light cleaning, fret board conditioning, tuning (obviously!), overall inspection, and when needed a truss rod adjustment. Having a setup done on a fresh set of strings ensures overall quality and calibration to the string specs.

Excellent shop for instrument repair and instruction, really nice group of teachers, each with different backgrounds and styles. Matt Hines is great. Max Cherry, the owner, really did an outstanding job setting up my Strat properly. Recommend Stonegrove highly!

This indie guitar shop offers a rotating collection of unique axes for sale, as well as expert repairs and lessons. Great, low-key vibe with super friendly and knowledgeable service. Owner Max did a skillful and timely setup on on my bass guitar and installed a new pickguard. Best part though was talking shop and music with him. Reasonable prices and worth it just to stop by for a chat. You've been to Guitar Center, now go to Stonegrove for the real deal. I'll be back soon!

A friend of mine referred me to bring in my bass to get it set up all nice and neat. Not only was the turn around time just as promised, but it sounds and plays fantastic! The staff there is ridiculously knowledgeable and I could feel the passion for guitars from them. Will be back with my other instruments.

This place is hands down THE place for your musical needs! I am VERY particular about my guitars and Max is the only one that touches them for work. I like to refer to him as the "Mad Scientist". Not only knowledgeable, but always amazing conversation about music in general. Has a great feel to the place like being in a great record store. Bring your guitars there. PERIOD. INCREDIBLE knowledge and work at a KILLER price. Skip Big Box Guitar Store.see Max.

What can I say about Stonegrove Guitar. Stonegrove Guitar is a lost art. Personal, professional, knowledgeable and passionate. In an industry that is becoming "big boxed" Stonegrove is proving that the local, family owned guitar shop is the best option. The shop is visually striking because it gives you the classic music, garage band type of feel.

It isn't perfectly laid out and that is what's ideal about it. The personality of the store is one that reminds me of exactly why I picked up a guitar to begin with. It's got comradery and uniqueness written all over the walls and those same aspects are backed up by the staff. The second I walked in there, I could tell the owner was engaged in the business, sitting at the front desk talking to incoming and outgoing clients.

I asked a simple question, was pointed in the right direction and went on my way. The best part of small family owned music shops is that they let you fall in love with a instrument without bothering you and pressuring you to buy it - unlike the big box stores. The owner did just that. I went and discovered the guitar I wanted to check out and after about 30 minutes of jamming the owner came back and had a conversation with me.

Not a single time was - "are you going to buy that" asked. We talked music, business, life and shared some opinions on local bands (support the musicians!) and instruments in general. I'll tell you this much, I walked out the store after my first visit wishing I did not have to leave. I returned today - my second time walking through the door and was greeted by name by the owner.

How incredible is that! Once again, conversations were had, knowledge was shared and an overall feeling of enjoyment was felt. I picked up some strings and got some free advice on rehabbing a damaged guitar before leaving. I have all intentions of returning to tinker with some of the instruments for sale -hoping to find my newest addition to a small but ever growing collection. Go to Stonegrove Guitars. You won't find better service or a more knowledgeable staff anywhere else in the greater La Grange area.
