Very professional response to my inquiries; thorough explanation of what they could offer me. It was easy and quick to set up a schedule that worked for me. I was really impressed by the physical components of the building: nice size rooms, bright, cheerful atmosphere. It’s a very welcoming place. An overall wonderful experience!

Customer Testimonials

SMA has been an excellent experience for my children to learn about music. The instructors are excellent and the opportunities to perform at the recitals is an added experience. The office staff and Jack have helped me to make the scheduling and other opportunities such as summer camp easy to coordinate. SMA is a wonderful resource for families with varied musical interests.

I am so impressed with your school. It was a MUCH needed resource in Scranton and your teachers are really making a difference.

Excellent. Teachers are certified and children learn in a safe supportive environment. Lessons are geared towards the child's abilities to learn. My son has a natural love of all music and his teacher Matt continues to foster his musical talents with ease. It's n amazing partnership and we are thrilled with our son's progress

I absolutely love it here! Everyone is very friendly and helpful! Currently, I am taking piano and voice lessons and they made it so my voice lesson is right after piano. This is very efficient for me -as I drive to Scranton from Pittston on these days. I am also a full time college student and not only is this helpful in terms of time and travel but my teachers are also helping prepare me for future auditions I'll take part in to transfer colleges! This is truly a great place. I walk out of here after every lesson excited for the next!

My names Mayer, I sing and play ukulele. I look forward to every lesson. Its an amazing experience, and something to be excited for. Everyone there is very kind and funny. Ive been taking lessons since I was ten years old ( I'm thirteen now ) and its been an amazing three years. Ive learned a lot of new things about music, and cant wait to learn more.

Excellent music school. They go above and beyond to make sure you’re child is comfortable and learns to their pace. Staff is friendly and very welcoming. Worth the money and investment into your child’s natural talent.

From Our Website

If you searched guitar lessons near me then you're in the right place! Our guitar teachers teach styles from rock & blues, metal, country, pop, jazz and classical styles on both electric, acoustic and bass guitars. We also teach Ukulele and Banjo lessons. You take your safe, online guitar lesson from the safety and comfort of your home. Beginners work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. Each lesson will challenge you with a new technique or music theory, and ends with something fun - such as your favorite riff or song.

Our strings program offers private lessons in violin, fiddle, viola & cello lessons. Our violin lessons start as young as age 5. Due to the size of the instrument, most cello lessons start at 10 years of age or older. Our string lessons are for both acoustic and electric instruments. All techniques are offered in the lessons such as how to properly hold the instrument, arco and pizzicato styles, sight reading, intonation, double stops, vibrato, harmonics and musicianship. We welcome students who want to study classical style, bluegrass, rock, and pop.

Brass Lessons - Our brass lessons include private trumpet lessons, French horn lessons, trombone lessons, baritone lessons and tuba lessons. Our trumpet teachers recommend that students for these instruments usually start at ages 9 or older as they need to have developed a greater lung capacity. And in the case of the tuba, they need to be big enough to hold the instrument. Our brass teachers have university or college degrees in music and perform in everything from salsa bands to local orchestras.

Scranton Music Academy continues to go above and beyond for their students as well as the parents. Throughout quarantine, they continued to teach their students through Zoom lessons which was a great relief. During such a frightening and confusing time for some children, the best thing that we as parents could do was to keep them on as much of a familiar routing as possible. SMA was a light in the darkness for my daughter Morgan. Not being able to go anywhere or do the things she was used to doing, her music lessons remained (mostly) the same and at the same time.

That question is often asked by prospective students. Our teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical desires and goals. We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach. A seven year old having their first guitar lesson will have very different needs than a fifty seven year old taking up guitar for the second time after having had lessons as a child. The main reason to choose our music school as your music lesson provider, is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual.

If you've always wanted to hone your skills as a rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel or R&B singer, Scranton Music Academy has the voice teacher for you. Our voice faculty focuses primarily on popular music. Each week, students are led through physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, breath control, enunciation and more. Each student set goals with their teacher, either to sound like their favorite recording artist, or to develop their own unique voice. Our voice instructors work with each student and parent on a personal level to craft a lesson plan that fits the student's individual needs and favorite type of music.

Sign up is easy and parent-friendly, with helpful staff at the front desk six days a week to serve you. Because we only offer lessons on a month-to-month basis, there are no large upfront payments, no complicated contracts, no annual material or performance fees, and no semester minimums.

I received a call about choosing a gift card for referring Maddy B. I would like an Amazon gift card. Thanks so much! Your business is easy to refer. I am so happy with your level of professionalism & the attention that my girls receive in their lessons. I look forward to referring you more in the future.
