The piano holds a tuning very well. The action is superb. Even in humidity, keys do not stick. It was an excellent choice. The action of the keys is noticeably different compared to other pianos in the same price range. Being a jazz pianist, I need a responsive action which I get with my Yamaha piano.

After playing for years on a decades old upright due to space constraints in our previous home, we moved into a new place with a bit more space, and I started looking into purchasing a baby grand now that my 7 year old son was beginning piano lessons as well. Andy at Rockaway music made the process extremely smooth and enjoyable by providing valuable insight and advice, taking various factors into consideration at every step.

His expert consultation regarding room size, budget/cost, used vs new, and construction factors of different model types helped me in deciding on the right option for my family and home. On top of that, he coordinated the delivery and had a professional team carefully bring the baby grand we chose into our house. He was generous with his time, making sure it was setup right and positioned optimally within the space (we purchased one with a disklavier), and the delivery crew took away the old upright, making the purchase process easy and a pleasure. If you are looking to purchase a new piano, you need to head over to Rockaway Music.

Absolutely amazing experience! Brent and team went above and beyond to make sure we got the right piano for us. No pressure, lots of great information, and no issues from purchase all the way to delivery. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I was at Rockaway music couple of weeks back for a Grand Piano for my daughter. Andy and Brent helped us to find the best piano for our budget. We now have a beautiful Yamaha G1 that my daughter adores. Andy and Brent spend quit a lot of time with us answering all our questions and also providing guidance to select the right Piano for my daughter.

The Piano delivery service they use was really great as well. They came home provided suggestions about placement of piano and set the piano exactly the way it should be. Great customer service!

I recently sold my YAMAHA piano in Rockaway Music which I bought from the same store for my child about 18 years ago. The piano had minor damage needs repair. Since I contacted Mr. Andy in May, he has been very cooperated for working the consignment contract with a reasonable price. To my surprise, my piano was sold in 2 months. I feel all the process have been smooth and is very satisfied.

Buy your piano here! I've purchased my last two pianos from Rockaway and I would never buy one from anyone else. Their service is unmatched. Andy is as good as it gets, I was recently having a minor issue with my piano and he called me personally on his day off to make sure everything was taken care of. The entire staff is extremely nice, the prices are very competitive (in fact, nobody has been able to match their prices the last two times I purchased a piano).overall just a great experience. I wouldn't buy a piano without giving them a chance for your business.

Can't speak highly enough of Rockaway Music! Bought a Clavinova CLP 635 as my first digital piano! The experience was amazing! Andy was super knowledgeable and super nice as he helped how to choose the piano. Movers are very professional in assembling and delivery (and, due to COVID-19, they did wear masks & gloves of course)! Happy to have Rockaway Music in the NJ neighborhood!

Great business. Brent was kind and patient. Great prices. Ultimately bought a different brand of piano but had nothing to do with the store. Just ended up liking the other piano more. Will likely shop there in future. Highly recommended.

Unless you want to buy a new Steinway (starts at $60k), this is the place to get a grand piano, or "baby" grand piano. The prices are competitive and negotiable. I have googled the heck out of my model (Yamaha GP1) so I know I'm getting a very good deal. I saw it listed for more everywhere except one ebay post where it was only slightly cheaper but not after you added value of Rockaway Music's many perks and the fact that it will fiercely defend its reputation. More, you can trade in the piano you bought there for 100% of its value and add that to purchase price of a new one.

We bought a Yamaha entry level grand for circa $7k. There's zero sketch-factor: we know it's history, we played it a bunch, they'll tune it twice for us (once when we buy, once a short time after delivery). Also, the salesman and owner are so kind and straight from the old-school. They look to build relationships that last 10, 20, or 30 years with you, and we felt no pressure whatsoever to buy.

Not for nothing, but the salesman here can actually play. The guy at Steinway on Rt4 was great. I loved learning from him, and I know I only scratched the surface of his knowledge base. But he couldn't play. For me, I want to talk about key action etc with someone who took the time to learn, who loves to play. With a non-player, the conversation can get pretty abstract, discussing building materials and the like but not the experience of playing, which is what I'm really buying. So positive experience all-around. I promise to update this if something comes up but if it stays 5 stars, that means I'm enjoying my new baby!

Stopped in Rockaway Piano and Music Store to compare different piano types and learn what I could regarding grand and upright piano's to help me make a purchase decision. The store owner, Andy, was very informative. Andy took time to explain technical aspects and important features of the various piano's in the store. There was no sales push or hard sell effort of any kind.

I went to several other piano stores looking at piano's of all major brands with price ranges from $8,000 through $50,000 plus. I wanted to see, feel and hear the differences. I compared sound, touch, finish, manufacturer reputation, and value. I quickly found, only Andy of Rockaway Piano Music Store took the time and had the expertise to clearly discuss the many technical questions I had regrading the specific piano action, registration, manufacture methods, wood processing and more.

Other stores pushed manufacturer highlights and manufacturer advertised features but the sales personnel were not familiar with many details. My music teacher introduced me to very high end Steinway International restoration expert for some hands-on experienced advice with no sales motivation. After a short introduction and discussion of my needs, I was surprised to be told by the piano restoration expert to go to visit Andy at Rockaway Piano and Music.

The expert told me Andy would sell me a piano which would meet my needs at a fair price and he would stand behind his product for customer satisfaction. The piano expert had done some business with many or the music stores in the area and was very familiar with the other brands, products, features and issues. The expert without input from me had confirmed what I had discovered regrading the Rockaway Piano and Music Store.

I purchased a new Yamaha U3 Silent Piano from Rockaway Piano Music Store with an adjustable artist bench. Delivery was as scheduled and the first in home tuning has just been completed all as agreed at the time of purchase. Before shopping for a piano I read and followed the advice provided in "The Piano Book" by Larry Fine". I am a retired engineer and purchased this piano to begin a new learning experience. Larry Fine provided me with a clear understanding of the unique aspects to be considered in making a piano purchase. Andy of Rockaway Piano and Music Store made taking the first step in my new musical journey a pleasure.

Purchased a Yamaha U3 earlier this month at their new Flemington location and could not be happier. Everyone there, without exception, went well beyond what you would expect in terms of knowledge, helpfulness and courtesy. I recommend Rockaway without reservation if you are considering purchasing a piano. They will honestly guide you through the process of finding the best fit for your needs.

I would first like to say that Rockaway Music is the best store to purchase a piano. I had been looking in many different stores no one could even compare to Rockaway Music. It's amazing to find a store like this around. They are so honest and really do care about your piano purchase. They also do piano lessons that I am signing my dor up for. If you need piano you should defiantly check hem out.

This is not your frequent trip store but when I was there, the service was amazing with their patience and knowledge. Spoke to Andy and Brent and were very helpful in my decision process of purchasing a piano and educated me on the different brands and the authenticity of them since he told me to beware if Yamaha pianos are sold online since they are not official distributors.

You would need to go to a location who can legally sell these pianos. I also got help from my daughter's piano teacher who does get a commission for bringing her students to this place. She was extremely useful on testing and letting me hear why a piano cost this much vs an inexpensive one of which I was geared for but end up in the moderate price range - a Clavinova, digital piano with piano-touch which never needs fine tuning (I'm all about convenience and so glad Yamaha make such a product) Your purchase includes delivery and overall prices are negotiable.

I didn't realize that benches are sold separately but they threw that and the headphones in to the overall price. I can also trade in my purchase and upgrade to another piano.
