Guitar Lessons

Guitar Lessons

Our guitar teachers teach Suzuki Classes, classical, rock, blues, and country guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitars. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.

Piano Lessons

Piano Lessons

Our piano teachers teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music. Whether you want to learn Bach or Alicia Keys, our teachers are happy to help you become the pianist you want to be. Our piano faculty will show you the fundamentals of sight reading, technique and theory, but they will also incorporate your favorite songs into your lessons. You do not have to have a piano at home to take lessons. A simple full size electronic keyboard will suffice for the first 6 months. Our piano teachers have warm personalities and enjoy sharing their love for the piano with you.

Violin Lessons

Violin Lessons

After completing your Suzuki Twinkles Class, you will be ready for private lessons. You will learn Suzuki classical repertoire as well as some fiddle tunes. Our violin teachers will show you the fundamentals of reading music, bowing technique, and theory. You will need to purchase or rent the appropriate size violin for your size.

What a wonderful music school. our daughter is almost 6 and has been taking music lessons here for almost 2yrs. The teachers have been so amazing and patient with her. Even at such a young age we have seen such a growth in her learning. We love all the extra concerts and performance opportunities as well as the Musical Ladder testing that they do. Such an encouraging atmosphere for students to learn in!

My son takes Piano lessons from Teacher Emily and she is wonderful. The entire staff and environment is friendly. They are passionate about music and have many options from different instruments all the way to voice lessons.

Our son really loves his guitar lessons at Post Falls Music Academy and we enjoy seeing the progress he's made since starting. If your kids love music and would like to learn an instrument by actually 'playing' their favorite songs then this is the place for you!!

We cannot say enough good things about Dawn at Joyful Noise Music. She has been such a great teacher for my kids the last three years. She is so encouraging, sweet, and very knowledgeable about music and instruments. Our kids have made wonderful progress during their lessons with her.

From Our Website

What does this mean? Well, our classes are strongly influenced by Dr. Suzuki, who founded the whole Suzuki method based on a single idea-- he calls this idea the mother tongue. He observed that all children learn to speak their own languages (mother tongues) with great accuracy, complete with local inflections. This he believes demonstrates a remarkable ability. Children are surrounded by these language sounds from birth, and he reasoned that if the children were surrounded by musical sounds to the same degree, they would develop an equally remarkable ability in music.

For piano students, you will need to purchase an instrument for your child to practice on at home. Ideally, this would be a real, acoustic piano, be it upright or grand. If you cannot purchase one, you may rent one monthly from a local supplier at an affordable rate, usually around $55 a month. If you cannot do that, then the next option would be to purchase the same keyboard your child uses in the class. With this option, you will also need a keyboard stand and bench. These can be purchased from the instructor.
