Jill loves to help students reach their Music POTENTIAL, and her teaching is based on her belief that anyone who has the desire, can play music it's just about putting the right kind of effort in with the right kind of technique. Jill believes that it's the teacher's responsibility to tailor their lessons to reach the student on the student's level. Piano lessons: work with book, note speller, ear training, and the student picks the style of music they would like to learn. I work best with Beginners and intermediate students. I also work with Singers that want to learn how to accompany themselves and or compose songs.
Vocal lessons: I teach Vocal Technique that has a foundation from Classical trained singers, so students will learn how to preserve and grow their voice, regardless of what style they choose to sing. I also show students how the vocal exercises relate to whatever style of music that they want to sing. I work with all levels and all styles of Singers. I won't change your style, I will improve the quality, range and health of your voice!
Song Writing: I work with all levels, pop, Country and folk styles only.

Cohn plays songs from her latest album, Beautiful I Love You, her first in nearly five years. Much of the album is composed of bittersweet ballads (with a few toe-tappers interspersed) about trails leading west from Carolina, good and bad times on the road, and, naturally, the elusiveness of true love.
A Radio Station recently called a concert with Jill Cohn "an evening of Folk Americana Bliss". Her Soul-Stirring Voice in combination with lush arrangements of toe tapping road stories had the Los Feliz Journal (Los Angeles, CA) naming her "Beautiful I Love You" album a top 10 indie pick of the year.

Jill holds graduate degrees in music performance (Piano and Voice) from Musicians Institute, as well as a performance / music business degree from Shoreline College. She has also been a featured performer at numerous songwriting conferences, and attended Western Washington University Music School and Dick Grove School of Music. Cohn teaches songwriting and performance workshops, classical and contemporary voice, as well as beginning classical piano and flute. Both Taylor Guitars and Elixir Strings currently endorse Cohn, and she is a regular guest speaker and performer on the College campus circuit.
