Dance is for everybody. I believe that the dance came from the people and that it should always be delivered back to the people. Dance and music are inseparably connected and dance offers a unique opportunity for physical and artistic expression. The Dance Department at Newark School of the Arts emphasizes proper body alignment, healthy physical development and a total integration of music and dance.

As an employee of Newark School of the Arts since 1994, I have seen young children grow into fine musicians, actors, dancers, and visual artists. The school has excellent artist-teachers. I have taken flute lessons, jazz dance and acrylic painting. I enjoyed taking all the classes. The guest artist performances are high-quality and free. There are several opportunities to perform including full costume dance performances. The school also has several professional vidual art exhibitions each year.

I love this school; I graduated in class of 2011. I had the greatest experience of my high school. The teachers and staff are so amazing. It feels like we're all a big family. It where my career started of music began and continuing after five years later of being in this school
