We have an open door policy. A parent can choose to sit in the teaching studio or view the lesson in the Monitoring room with a large 2 way mirror.

Our studios are stocked with everything you need for lessons, including amps, acoustic & electronic drum sets, pianos, stereos, computers, soundproofing, observation windows, and more. 9. Yearly Recital
Every December, our students have the option of performing in our recital. Students are not required to perform, but many choose to.
10. No Contract or Registration Fee!
Musicians Academy does not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student enrolled is on a month to month basis.

That question is often asked by prospective students. Our teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your specific musical needs and goals. A seven year old having their first guitar lesson will have very different needs than a fifty seven year old taking up piano for the 2nd time after having had lessons as a child. The main reason to choose the Academy as your music lesson provider, is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual.
Musician's Academy proudly supports their partnership with their wholesale distributor to bring you savings in all string instruments. Band, Orchestra, and Voice students young and old are welcomed here, to help build and establish a knowledge based community. We currently provide Orchestra students in school music programs with instrument rentals.

Danny Pena
Owner/Head Instructor
Danny Pena is the Owner/Head Instructor and has 30 years experience. He began learning guitar at age 7 and was in locals bands in Corpus Christi and Austin in the mid 70's and 80's. Studied classical guitar for 3 years at Del Mar College with guitarist Javier Calderon (a former student of Andres Segovia). Studied Jazz guitar for 2 1/2 years with the late professor Chester Rupe.

I signed up my son and was happy with them until the price went up with no explanation, they said just because. We didn't want to go there anymore its a shame cause my son loved and i did to to that point. There was no contract because I share custody and dont have my son every day with me or every weekend. At that point we quit, if it would happened now maybe i would not rushed that decision, now money situation is better, i just didnt like the way the situation was handled. Other than that it was great, good teachers, i even played piano a bit in the open room while waiting for my son.

After playing guitar as a hobby for quite some time, I wanted to learn more than just chords. After sitting down with Danny and telling him what I wanted to accomplish, he provided several scale charts (pentatonic, etc.) to study. Michael (my instructor) has a clear understanding of the goals I want to achieve, and has been instrumental in helping me attain them. Great place to learn!

So happy to have found such a great place for my daughter to learn and develop her love of music and pursue her interests and passions more. Her teacher was really wonderful working with her and teaching her breathing techniques as well as singing. She is loving the lessons her smiles and enthusiasm says it all. Both my son and daughter have been taking music lesson at the Musicians Academy here in Corpus Christi for many years. My daughter's piano teacher is amazing and my son's drum teacher is also amazing. They both have learned so much from both teachers. If you or your children are interested in lesson, I highly recommend this place.

My son took drum lessons here for a couple years and it really made a huge difference in his confidence and playing. His instructor Matt was very patient and genuinely cares about helping our son improve. I don't think Matt works there anymore but everyone we've dealt with there has been wonderful. Looking forward to returning for more lessons.

Elaine and Larissa are both fantastic piano instructors, with great resources and personal attention, and a patient, nurturing style. I only had to stop because of injury (not related to piano), but cannot wait to resume once healed. You will be pleased working with either of these capable instructors!

We really like Musician's Academy. Our son loves to come and visit with his instructor Garret. He so patient with our son, he has learned quite a bit since coming here in Jan. Everyone at the academy is very friendly, and knowledgeable. Thank you academy for everything that you all do for these wonderful children.

I am 66 years old, retired highway employee and have been taking guitar lesson from Mr. Danny Pena, the proprietor for the pass 14 months. Danny is a joy to take lessons from, his lessons are gear to the level of the individual student. No pressure is applied for students to learn their material as soon as possible, instead Mr. Pena is very patient and very encouraging towards his students.
I have not meet the entire music staff but those instructors I've meet were upbeat and genuinely interest in providing top notch music instructions. I look forward to each and every lesson each week. Each year an annual music review is conducted allowing parents, friends and relatives an opportunity to witness their child's progress and enjoy a potluck lunch afterwards. a wonderful social event. MA's hard working staff put on a marvelous event.
From my experience at MA, I would strongly recommend making MA your music professionals for all your musical instruction needs. Musicians Academy is conveniently located next to Planet Fitness at SunRise Mall.

I have enjoyed my lessons so much. I had music lessons (accordion) all my childhood, but as a child any voice instructions were group lessons at school or church. My teacher for voice at the academy has given me so much confidence. Jillian's instructions have helped me improve pitch and voice range, teaching me where to focus and project sound in my head. Her instructions are always polite and constructive. Many thanks to Jillian and the Academy.

My son had no musical education prior to working with Danny. He wanted to learn the guitar. So we asked at Guitar Center who they would recommend, without hesitation they said Danny. My son has A.D.D. and this has helped him at home and at school. Danny is great with him and is making great progress.
