Musical Bridges Musical Bridges was founded in June 2005 with the vision of providing quality music therapy services to individuals with disabilities in the Middle Tennessee area. At Musical Bridges, I focus on addressing each person's needs by first completing a comprehensive music therapy assessment then creating an individualized treatment plan that address functional nonmusical goals.

I emphasize the individuality and independence of each client I serve and strive to bring them to their highest level of functioning possible. I currently provide services to individuals with developmental, physical, and learning disabilities, behavior challenges, and typically developing preschoolers, specializing in autism spectrum disorders. My clients range from infancy to the elderly.

Adapted music lessons
Report
Musical Bridges offers adapted lessons on piano, guitar, drums, and voice for individuals with disabilities. We adapt the instruments to help each person develop independence. Examples include color-coding, different hand positions, modified chords and strumming techniques, etc. Learning a musical instrument provides a leisure skill as well as a foundation for the development of fine motor skills, following directions, tracking, attention, and general music knowledge.
Traditional music lessons
Report
Traditional music lessons are available for children and adults beginning at age 4. We offer both traditional and Suzuki (play by ear) methods. Beginning to intermediate students are accepted for piano, guitar, violin, and voice. We incorporate music theory, sight-reading, rhythm and technique exercises, chord progressions, and the Nashville number system to aid in transposition and improvisation.

Musical Bridges is now teaching online music lessons using Skype! With their FREE video calling, we can work together – at a day and time that is convenient for you.
