Our office staff is working remotely - please give us a call at (203) 748-1444 if you need assistance. Since 1993 thousands of students have taken music lessons with us. We started as a small teaching studio, but have grown to become the largest music school in the area. We do not believe we are the best because we're the biggest. Instead, we believe we're the biggest because families think we are the best.
Our focus is on teaching music. Our professional and university trained teachers can offer you or your child a musical education second to none. They are friendly, patient, and know how to make learning fun. Remember, the right teacher can make all of the difference. Our office staff will help you choose just the right teacher, and on a day and time that is convenient for your schedule. We teach most musical instruments, including piano, guitar, voice, drums, strings, brass and woodwinds. Office staff available 10am to 7pm Monday - Friday, and Saturday 9am to 1pm to assist with your scheduling other questions.
Our private guitar lessons include acoustic, electric and bass guitar. We have an excellent and varied guitar teaching staff who can teach everything from rock to jazz, classical to pop, and Spanish to folk. Our teachers are all very active performing themselves as soloists and in bands. Each guitar teacher has a college or university music degree and is well versed in the proper theory and technique a student needs, no matter whether they are interested in classical or heavy metal. Guitar lessons at our school are enhanced by the opportunity of learning how to play with other musicians in rock or jazz bands, or as a soloist in one of our recitals.
Located Danbury, CT and just minutes from Ridgefield, Bethel, New Fairfield, Brookfield, Newtown, and Brewster, NY our school offers the highly regarded Suzuki method of instruction is particularly suitable for the very young child and it emphasizes the parent's role in supporting the students' learning. No previous experience is necessary for the parent. The mind has the ability to begin learning anything at a young age. The younger one starts, the earlier the mind is capable of learning quickly.
We offer a wide variety of drum and percussion lessons. Most of our students learn on a drum kit. Drum and percussion students can begin lessons at age eight or older; however, after a consultation with one of our teachers, several have successfully begun as young as 6 years old. Drum lessons are taught on a drum kit in our studios, but students are able to get started practicing at home on practice pads before purchasing or renting a drum kit. Our drums lessons stress proper technique so that students become good drummers quickly.
Recitals provide a unique way to educate students and the audience alike in the art of making music. They are an integral part of the learning process, and while participation is not required, every student is encouraged to do so. Since the Music Learning Center holds three recitals each school year, there are opportunities for students to perform in the recital(s) that best fits their preparation and schedule. The fall (November) and spring (June) recital series are open to all students to perform.

If you're seeking exceptional music education in classical, pop, rock, blues, jazz, hip-hop, and everything in-between, MLC is the place to go. Music is an important part of a child's life. Our total focus is on education. Seeing other students come in weekly can inspire their fellow students and encourage them to make a commitment to learning and practicing, said Director Jeff McGill.
