You can enroll for lessons or music therapy services at any time, we prorate the weeks for the remaining of any term! Do you have a music instrument needing to be loved by an eager student? Music Academy is in need of instruments for students who cannot otherwise afford to start with their musical journey. We welcome your assistance. Alison joined the Music Academy faulty as it opened in 1997. She grew up in Plattsburgh, NY, but moved to CT for her undergraduate studies at the Hartt School of Music and then to Greenville for her graduate degree in Music from ECU. Her most influential teachers were John Wion and Christine Gustafson. When she's not at the Academy, you can find her teaching at The Oakwood School, Pitt Community College or performing thorughout eastern and central NC. Recently, she has been selected to perform at the National Flute Conference in 2016 and 2017!


Our faculty enjoy performing and working as freelance musicians. They are available to serve you for weddings, parties, religious services, concerts, and other special events! Please contact us and let us know about your event, the date and time, and what kind of music you would like. We will be happy to discuss what we can arrange for you! Our students and student ensembles also love opportunities to perform for special events. For example, perhaps you would like music for senior living centers, ot the National Anthem for sporting and business events, our ensembles may be available for this!


Lori received her Master in Music and Bachelor of Music-Music Education from East Carolina University and additional graduate studies in Choral Conducting from Appalachian State University. She specializes in classical, broadway, jazz, pop, rock, sacred, and contemporary Christian. Lori has 20 years experience in public and private school teaching, community music and theatre groups, and church music programs across North Carolina. She is an accompanist, music and theatre director, producer, choreographer across North Carolina.
