  • I would recommend this business

Merry Melody is a top-notch musical instruction program. Run by the most brilliant pianist I have known, Vivian has assembled the most highly talented and qualified professionals to teach music and nurture further interest in music. We have had three teachers for our daughter's voice and piano instruction and all have been outstanding. Merry Melody's passion for the arts and teaching really shows in all they do.

We love Merry Melody Music Academy and found the teachers to be excellent in every way. Our two daughters and I are taking lessons and it's fascinating to see how we all progress under the guidance of Ioana and our prior teacher Holly. Thank you!

We have used Merry Melody for 6-7 years now, bass, guitar, and drums. We have enjoyed all the teachers, and Chris and Vivian run a tight ship. My boys have grown musically and really enjoy playing. Can't recommend them enough.

From Our Website

Merry Melody Music Academy was founded in 2001 by Vivian Tsang (Piano) and Chris Poon (Guitar/Bass), a husband and wife team who are accomplished musicians and music educators. Still serving as Directors today, they graduated from prestigious music institutions (Vivian from New England Conservatory of Music and Chris from Berklee College of Music) while enjoying very successful teaching careers for the past 15+ years. Although they play different instruments, they both share the same visions as music teachers - to make learning music a fun and engaging experience for students and to equip them with the ability to enjoy the gift of music for the rest of their lives.

The piano is one of the most appealing and familiar instruments. Whether gathering around the piano for a sing-along, or listening to it at a church, or hearing it played by pop artists on television, we are immediately drawn to the versatility and sound of the piano. Because of the broad range and variety of sounds that the piano can make, playing the piano is like having an orchestra at your disposal! Piano is a great instrument for beginning music studies because of its ease of use. Be it grooving along to one of the latest, hottest tune from the radio, or expressing yourself with one of the classical masterworks, our versatile, experienced and knowledgeable team of instructors know how to help students and parents reach their goals.

Bass is definitely one of the most (if not the most) important instrument in the contemporary music world! Though often neglected compared to the guitar and drums in a band, its function as a groove machine and harmonic foundation has made it one of the most unique and important instruments. Unfortunately, it is also one of the harder instruments to learn. Its unique design presents unique challenges and an unexpected longer learning curves for beginners comparing to other instruments. With our incredible depth of experience, we have developed a system that will help students enjoy learning without unnecessary frustration.
