Los Cenzontles Mexican Arts Los Cenzontles is a band, a nonprofit organization, a music academy, a community space for youth and families, and a hub for Latino artists - all working together to amplify our Mexican roots here in the Bay Area and beyond. We produce original music, videos, and educational tools. We teach classes to hundreds of local youth in traditional Mexican music, dance, and arts and crafts.

We host many popular community events throughout the year. Locally, we are a second home for many families and we are a long-standing leader in the Mexican roots revival here in the United States.
Services
Los Cenzontles is a grassroots artist-driven organization committed to amplifying the roots of Mexican culture through classes, events, media and performances. Founded in San Pablo, CA in 1994 by musician and educator Eugene Rodriguez, Los Cenzontles provides the local community with a family-friendly setting for traditional arts education and cultural events.
Los Cenzontles is a California non-profit that started with the idea that connecting young people to art and their cultural roots provide them a foundation from which to grow and thrive. Today Los Cenzontles is a cultural academy that offers music, dance, arts and crafts classes, and workshops to children throughout the state and beyond.
The Los Cenzontles Academy invites students of all ages to learn music, dance, arts and crafts from true maestros of authentic Mexican genres and to play an essential role in these living traditions by performing for friends, parents, and community. Classes at Los Cenzontles provide a rich cultural foundation to inspire pride and confidence in future leaders and ensure the survival of authentic Mexican art forms.
Mexico and the United States share a common border and many people in the U.S. are from Mexico or have descendants of people from Mexico. The United States is a country whose culture is forged by the many immigrants who make up its population. Mexicans, like other immigrants, bring many rich cultural influences from their native countries.

I called from a non profit organization, i called to ask for the two women to come sing to our event, asked for an estimate of how much they would charge to come. One of the ladies said well how much money do you have. I replied well how much do you charge and she respond again the more money you have the more we charge. Horrible horrible experience! Never again will i ever call them. The lady i spoke to is one of the singers.
