Lindsay Buckingham Piano Studio

Lindsay has taught over 50 different private students from the ages of 5 to adult over the past 10 years. She also teaches group keyboard classes, enjoying the dynamics of bringing an ensemble to a fun group atmosphere. She is passionate about teaching and cares deeply about her students.

In addition to teaching piano, her musical contributions are diverse. Lindsay has served for years as a church pianist; accompanied choirs, soloists, and musical theater produc-tions of My Fair Lady and Thoroughly Modern Millie; worked as a teacher's assistant for undergraduate upper level music theory; played for special events and performed solo and chamber recitals in the community. Additionally, Lindsay plays the violin as a second instrument and has taught lessons and performed community concerts with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony, the Portland Festival Orchestra, and chamber music groups.

Lindsay began her studies of piano at age 5. She had the opportunity to study classical piano with Li-Shan Hung and Jennie Wong at the Biola University Conservatory of Music. While a student there, she had the privilege of performing for master classes with Manehem Pressler, Howard Karp, Nelita True, and Bela Siki. She also studied jazz piano with Rique Pantoja and improvisation with Barry Liesch. Lindsay graduated from Biola magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. She received several conservatory awards, as well as being inducted into the Epsilon Kappa Epsilon Honor Society for her academic achievement and service.

Lindsay loves to partner with other musicians, providing opportunities for her students to explore the joy of music by performing for and with others and also helping her students pursue and develop their musical interests, whether classical or contemporary, solo or ensemble, composition or improvisation.
