I was referred to Greg Geiger through Mr. Jack Lantz. And Jack knew what I of course did not know. It turned out that Gregory Geiger is a Master Voice Instructor. He has helped me progress more than I thought I was able, extending my range and teaching me both how to control and relax. To my surprise, I am a tenor. I am just beginning my journey. It wasn't long before I realized that Greg has something.

He is not just a great vocalist who decided to teach. He has developed his ability to work with many types of people and various types of voices through years of experience. Greg's understanding and ability to articulate penetrates deeply through words and sentences and across disciplines. His is an art, full of metaphor and simile, to describe what we cannot see.

If you want to find a way forward when you feel stuck, if you want to discover the voice you have and not the one your last instructor wanted you to have, and especially if you want to move beyond singing to creating life-sharing moments, Greg.

Gregory is a very competent voice teacher, but he did coldly tell me to "get the f*** out" of his room when I was a voice student at Pomona College in Claremont, CA, where he was an instructor. I was a typical, headstrong college student, and I challenged a concept he presented about the fundamental inability to control the pitch of the voice, due to some sort of brain-muscle-aural feedback loop. I'm sure he was/is right, but the memory of him coolly walking to the door in his wool turtleneck, holding it open, and saying "get the f*** out" is not a pleasant one. I hope you don't treat people that way anymore, Greg.

Very dedicated and focused teacher. He's also a professional performer. I highly recommend coming to him to advance your career to the next level or even bring your high schoolers to learn.

I worked with Gregory Geiger for about six months, while I visited Pasadena. Gregory is focused on helping you create the best sound your anatomy is capable of. His project for me was to help me set up my vocal instrument as well as possible to achieve the best resonances my voice is capable of. This is not easy to teach or to learn; your ear is not a good guide, if you care about the sound outside rather than inside your head. Gregory lead me through a large variety of exercises to allow me to arrive at the proper setup more and more reliably, with patience, humor, and generosity. I'd highly recommend training with Gregory: he will help you achieve a tone quality you did not know you were capable of.

I was made aware of Gregory Geiger's studio through the success of some singer friends and colleagues of mine. I, however, am a classical guitarist and was pleased to make the acquaintance of LA Classical Studio guitar instructor, Gabriel Deutsch. I had a lesson with him recently and was impressed by his musical sensitivity and insight. He was able to meet me at my level and suggested some great exercises to address my unique issues. Gabriel was affable and thoughtful and communicated his thoughts clearly as a teacher.

He was very encouraging and positive about some repertoire choices I had made and was able to help me think about these pieces in the right way. I now feel I have a new path to success as a player. I am very excited for Gabriel and Gregg and the other staff instructors who obviously take their profession and their calling seriously. A quiet and comfortable studio environment, as well. Bravi tutti!

I attended LA Classical Studio as a student of Gregory Geiger for about six months. I started with almost zero singing experience under my belt and came to Gregory because a friend requested that I sing at his wedding- he was drunk, I was drunk, his wife-to-be thought it was hilarious. I'm a man of my word, so I buckled up and found help. Like I said, I had almost zero singing experience, but I'm no slouch, and neither is Gregory.

Part of me thinks he took me on because he thought my predicament was funny. He is a top notch professional but also has a very good sense of humor, which makes the sessions feel very relaxed. Gregory was a phenomenal vocal instructor and has a tremendous amount of knowledge not only of best practices/techniques but also the physical dynamics behind the vocal mechanism. I'm definitely more of a left brain thinker, and this information was tremendously helpful in guiding my approach to technique.

When it came time to perform I had enough confidence that I didn't crack, got some clapping at the end, and made one bridesmaid and the bride herself shed a few tears. For once a week over six months and pretty regular practice I was pretty pleased with the results. This would absolutely not have been possible without Gregory's aid. If you're looking for a vocal coach not only is Gregory effective, but he's just an all-around nice guy.

You will leave every day with better vocal control and more knowledge about musical theory and vocal anatomy. I had a lot of fun throughout the whole experience, and when I have the time again to practice rigorously along with the lessons I will definitely be returning.

What an incredible blessing to find Gregory and to have him as my voice teacher. In only five, 30 minute lessons, I am already beginning to hear (and feel!) major improvement in my voice. I *thought* I knew how to sing after growing up in musical theatre and choirs, but I have been making mistakes this whole time that compromise the health and safety of my instrument. Gregory's ears have a dog-like fine tuning that my voice cannot deceive- he hears it all and finds creative ways to help me understand what my voice should sound like, and more importantly, what it should feel like when I'm singing well. He is a talented, dedicated professional whom I am so grateful for. Thank you for helping me to find and polish my sound, Gregory!

Playing music all my life, I have had both good and bad experiences. I can tell who is a good teacher when I come across one. But then again, there are also differences between good and great. Gregg is not just great but he has also been that one extraordinary talented teacher who is dedicated in improving my voice the best he could. To me, he does not just do this for the sake of teaching but he teaches just for the joy of being able to help students produce beautiful sounds.

He is truly inspirational. I cannot emphasize how important it is to be with the right teacher who not only is musically talented but also knows how to convey that knowledge to students. As students, we are at the mercy of our teachers to guide us what is right and what is wrong. If you choose a teacher who guides you in a wrong direction, you will start forming habits which will be hard to fix.

The same is very true for vocal lesson. You need to be with a teacher who knows what they are doing and know how to teach you. If not, it will take years to just fix the wrong habits, or worse, your voice may be completely destroyed. I recommend Gregg Geiger for anyone who wants to truly learn how to sing in a beautiful, correct and healthy way :

I've been singing all my life in musical theater and classical ensembles, but a while ago I noticed that my voice was changing and not so much in a good way. I decided to seek out some professional help and was fortunate to stumble upon LA Classical Studio in Pasadena where I met with Gregory Geiger. Greg immediately identified some specific bad habits that I had developed and by the end of my very first lesson with him, I could feel and hear a big difference in my singing. It's been just shy of a year since then and I can't say enough about Greg's knowledge, patience and unique ability to understand exactly how to communicate what can be very subjective ideas about what it feels like to sing with proper, healthy technique. I've never felt more confident about my singing thanks to Gregory Geiger.

L.A. Classical Studio Inc. is located on the second floor of an outdoor courtyard of suites full of art boutiques. It's a small studio on the far side of the courtyard with a dual piano setup and live sound recording station. Lessons are taught by Gregory Geiger and Julian Fielder. My lesson was with Gregory, who is a member of the Los Angeles Opera and Los Angeles Master Chorale.

He has memberships with all the major unions in Hollywood as well. The best part about taking lessons from Gregory is his attention to detail. He is very intellectual about how he teaches you, giving you multiple examples of good theoretical practice as well as factual evidence about what your voice is doing. His knowledge of the physics of your vocal chords and how they work is astounding.

I signed up for the 6 lesson package offered by his company and have completed four of the six thus far. My understanding for what a good voice does has increased threefold and my appreciation for the vocal arts has grown as well. Not only has his lessons improved my technique, but I shall be able to use his examples in my future musical endevours. I highly recommend his instruction if you need vocal lessons!
