Klingman Voice Studio Singing As A Way Of Life!

As a Voice Teacher, I meet people of many ages and abilities who all love to sing. Many are on a professional track, some enjoy singing as a hobby and some are exploring their singing voice for the first time. It has been my experience that most people who want to sing - actually can sing. While talent is wonderful, inspiration and the desire to communicate are also important components in beautiful singing. As Technique is established, each singer develops an individual sound and style. Voice training can be a wonderfully practical endeavor as well as a creative journey without a finite ending point. Courage, perseverance and an open mind are key to becoming a great singer. Singing unites mind, body, and spirit. It can carry us to a place unreachable by any other path.

Studio Information

Lessons are offered to all ages and voice types. Instruction is tailored to each individual. Although 15 is generally a good age to begin voice study, each voice matures according to its own schedule! If there is any question, an initial lesson can determine the best way to proceed.

Lessons may be scheduled according to availability. Usually once per week. Special arrangements can be made for singers who have variable schedules. Regular attendance as well as steady practice will yield the best results.

The recording of the lesson can also be a helpful tool. Students may bring an SD Card (1-4g) for use in digital recording. This recording can then be downloaded to computer, cd or mp3 player for playback.

Payment by cash or check, either in advance, or at the time of the lesson is requested.

The Lesson Time is reserved exclusively for the student. 24 hour advance notice of cancellation is required. The student must pay for any lessons not cancelled in advance. In this, as in all things, there is also grace and sometimes forgiveness!

The student should bring their music and all instructional materials to each lesson. Assistance will be provided in ordering music as necessary.

I've been seeing Nancy for a couple of months now. Prior to this, I tried online training and videos. It took me a while to decide that in person voice lessons might help. However, once I got in there my doubts were completely over. She has taught me techniques that I really thought only belonged to people with a natural ability to sing. I've found they're techniques that can be used in any type of singing and most importantly they can be learned.

What attracted me to Nancy's classes originally was her classical training and performance singing background. Her prices were competitive even when the comparison was with other peoples' online prices. She was the only one that responded when it came to my intake forms because 1. I didn't know if I wanted to take more than one lesson. 2. I only wanted to do half hour lessons. 3.

I am somewhat introverted. I've stuck with Nancy because I've learned something each time I go to class. I'm able to sing notes that I thought were not possible for me. The resonance in my sound has become wonderfully colorful. She teaches out of her own home studio. It is a comfortable environment where we can sing and practice. She gives us the tools, encouragement, correction and confidence that we need from our teachers to thrive. This is the teacher you've been looking for. Learn how to use and care for your most available, complex musical instrument, your voice!

Nancy is an excellent teacher. She is great at explaining why some things work and others don't. In addition to this, she is very supportive of all of her students.

I came to Nancy as an adult with zero musical training. Her patience and guidance have given me confidence in singing and reading music. My lessons with her are the highlight of my week! Who knew singing could be so much fun! We laugh our way through every lesson and I always come out feeing more confident and energized than when I went in!

I knew nothing about music, so I was starting from ground zero. I have gone from "cover your ears, Dennis is singing" to a voice that is actually enjoyable to listen to. I love the way she explains things and how far she has brought me with my voice.
