Customer Testimonials

I have been studding guitar for over a year at Houston Music Academy. Couldn't be happier with my instructor who's one of Houston's top players. Nothing but smiles when I finish my lesson. Love the location! There is a small town vibe in this area that you can't find anywhere else. Easy in and easy out. Plenty of parking and cool hangs like the Bellaire Coffee Shop. They have nice studios and keep a clean environment. Part of the space doubles as a small acoustic guitar shop. Fun! One nice thing about HMA is there's no registration fee and a no hassle policy about rescheduling lessons. The hours of operation could be a little better. Not open on Sunday. Over all 5 stars!

For Houston Music Academy, the classical guitar represents an exploration and experimentation. It is one of the most expressive instruments considering it is a string instrument sympathetic to every touch. In the beginning, there might seem to be a lot of information and small mountains to climb, but it's worth it. Know that even the simplest sounding of a string is a technique that can be explored for decades and there is no finish line that we are striving for. Rather, you will enjoy little revelations on a regular basis whether it be with beginner technique or advanced repertoire.

We are so glad you have found your way to the Jazz Bass be it Up-Right or Electric because it can be a lifetime companion and a great way to find focus and beauty in this complex modern world. For Houston Music Academy, the Jazz Bass represents an oprtunity for exploration and experimentation. From Scott LaFaro, Charles Mingus, Charlie Haden, Jaco Pastorius, Ron Carter, these greats provide shining beacons of light and whose styles are all available to explore here at Houston Music Academy. In the beginning, there might seem to be a lot of information and small mountains to climb, but it's worth it.
