Private violin lessons offered in my studio. Fundamentals taught include: posture/positioning, names and relative pitches of strings, basic concepts of rhythm and note/rest values, and eventually note reading. For the little ones (ages 4+) charts, toys, illustrations and games are used to provide incentive and motivation. Students that are advanced will begin lessons once an initial evaluation is conducted. Articulation, shifting, vibrato, and theory are basic areas of focus. I coach the UW-Washington County Youth Orchestra and have taught privately for several years. References are available.

My name is Lisa Kitzke. I graduated from UW-Milwaukee in 1993 with a BFA in Music Performance. I teach traditional violin lessons in my home/studio in Jackson and accept students ages 5 yrs and older. In addition to teaching privately, I coach the 2nd violins for the UW-Washington County Youth Orchestra and I play in the praise band at Still Waters Community United Methodist church here in Jackson. I am also available to play for weddings whether it is simply for prelude music, processional/recessional or if you are having pre-reception music for your guests as they gather.
As for the lessons; each lesson takes into account each student's goals, abilities, experience, strengths and weaknesses. I also structure the lesson around each individual student; something you can only get in private lessons. My teaching style is open and honest, fun and encouraging. For young beginners, I typically will incorporate games, music listening, charts, toys, even illustrations to provide motivation and to keep learning fun and exciting.
