Parents, there's never been a better time to enroll your child in one of our popular introductory classes. Or sign up yourself! We have programs geared to all ages, young and old. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and ask about our upcoming classes. You knew that music is great to listen to, and is a perfect background to all sorts of activities (including homework). But did you also know that learning to play a musical instrument helps young minds become more adept at learning, and may actually boost a child's intelligence and creativity?
Long a favorite of folk singers and rock bands, the guitar allows young players to start making harmonious music fairly early, while offering advanced players ever-broadening horizons for musical eloquence. Our experienced instructors are happy to introduce new students to the world of guitar playing, and to work with students of all levels to master their favorite musical styles. Guitar lessons are available to students age 7 and older. Lessons are 30 minutes long, once a week, and include theory, technique, rhythm, lead, and improvisation.
The violin is one of the most expressive and delightful instruments in the orchestra, but if you want to play well, you need a solid grasp of the fundamentals. Our Suzuki violin program looks beyond "playing the song" and teaches students how to play the instrument. From the very first notes of the "Twinkle Variations" through the advanced pieces in the upper level books, our emphasis is on developing the good habits and techniques that the best violinists need in order to get the most from this beautiful instrument.
Our piano classes combine fun, computer-assisted learning, and individualized, one-on-one instruction, led by our staff of experienced instructors. The group setting promotes a feeling of camaraderie among the students, but each student is free to progress at their own pace, without the anxiety you sometimes have in more formal group lessons. The kids have a great time! During each weekly, one-hour lesson, the student spends part of the time at the teacher's station, receiving the same coaching, instruction, and encouragement that more traditional teaching methods offer.
There's no better way to give your kids a jump-start on their education than to introduce them to beginning music at an early age. And HOPS is a great place to start! Our experienced and friendly staff knows just how to engage young learners at an age-appropriate level, and to nurture a love of music that will last their whole life. Our pre-K program is open to students age 4, 5, and 6, and features the nationally-known "Music for Little Mozarts" program from Alfred Music. Students meet weekly for one-hour lessons, in small groups of 3-4 students per class, and learn listening skills, playing music, and reading music.
