My daughter has been taking guitar lessons with Mr. Chad for 10 months and her progress has been amazing to watch. Mr. Chad makes it more than a guitar lesson, he genuinely cares about the kids (and adults) he teaches and wants to see them live up to their full potential. I can't recommend him enough!

Our daughter has been taking guitar lessons with Chad for a year now. We could not be more pleased with her progression. Chad is much more than a guitar instructor. He's become a mentor to our daughter and she often walks out of class with valuable life lessons. He also supports our daughter by showing up to open mics whenever we have then. We highly recommend Chad!

I've been taking lessons with Chad since July 2021, started from zero music knowledge, and I am thrilled with my progress. Great curriculum, excellent at teaching new techniques, answers all questions with grace, and holds you accountable to practice! He really teaches the fundamentals that will set you up for success. If you put in the work, his lessons will get you where you want to go.

Several times in the past I've tried to learn to play guitar. The experiences were a mixed bag, one leaned way to far into reading music and theory, and others were just guitar tab and learning a song. In those cases I lost interest and focus and eventually dropped out before becoming even moderately proficient. Since starting lessons with Chad this year, I've found his approach refreshingly different.

He has enough theory and technical info to help me understand why we do something or play a certain way, but doesn't make that the leading focus of my studies. He also teaches in a way that brings the staples of guitar learning like chord progressions and scales, into a format that makes practicing them more fun. Examples of this are instead of always just monotonously practicing scales, he has me playing them over a backing track in the same key.

So I'm learning the scales, but playing to a song and it's just way more fun and satisfying. The same songs that I'm doing with my scales are songs I'm playing rhythm and learning chord progressions and strumming patterns and techniques with. That approach pulls the various ideas and elements into a format that results in constant incremental growth and improvement.

I couldn't be happier with my decision to pick up my guitar and start lessons with Chad! An old adage I've heard says "you're not old until your dreams become regrets", well I've always dreamed of playing guitar but have never seen it through. This time feels different and I'm excited to be continuing my lessons with Chad.

I have been taking lessons from Chad since Fall 2020. I have tried lessons with different providers multiple times over a 20-year period, and taking lessons from Chad has been the only time I've seen actual progress and felt my investment was worthwhile. Chad has his own, tried and true method of instruction - different from past experiences with other providers. Chad is a true lover of music and teaching and it shows.

He is patient and willing to meet you where you are while challenging you to be your best music self. I highly recommend him. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel for me as far as realizing my dream to be able to competently and confidently play guitar. Thankful!

I've played guitar off and on (mostly off) for over 30 years but never really learned much past a few chords and songs. After spending a year and half of learning from an online course, I knew I needed some in-person instruction to solidify the basics and go beyond my current skills. I'm glad I did. Chad is a no-nonsense teacher with a very accessible style.

He has really helped me clean up some rookie errors and have a stronger understanding of things I only thought I understood. Unfortunately, due to a change in my work, I had to suspend lessons, but Chad has given me plenty of excellent direction to continue on my own for now.

I've been taking lessons for 2 years with Chad. I've tried other guitar teachers and online programs before with limited success. Lots of teachers just throw a lot of stuff at you without any plan. Chad has a plan. He's also good about giving very detailed instruction on strumming and picking technique. Chad's the best guitar teacher I've ever had. I'd highly recommend him.

Started taking lessons in August 2019. I'm a total beginner. Very pleased with my experience so far. Lessons are not intimidating and build upon previous lessons. My instructor is very patient and flexes the lessons to match the progress I've made (or not made) on the previous lesson. Great location. Easy to get to. Highly recommend.

Chad's approach to teaching is incredibly well thought out and disciplined in a way that takes the student slowly but deliberately up the skill ladder. I've learned things about the guitar that I never imagined could be known and it all boils down to a better understanding of "The Why" and "How" of playing well. Don't sign up with Chad unless you intend to "practice, practice, practice". Chad gives a lot in his teaching style and he expects the same from his students. After many years of trying to learn an instrument, finally at my age of 65, Chad just might help me find my musical muse!

Great place to learn guitar, regardless of prior experience! Chad's coursework has three stages (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) that cover a wide range of topics (from chords and rhythm up to scale sequences and music theory) to enhance your playing ability. I picked up a guitar for the first time in February 2016, and since then my growth as a result of Chad's lessons has been astounding. If you are intentional with your practice and have a goal in mind for your playing, take the time to make an appointment with Chad. You won't regret it.

Can't say enough good about what I've learned since starting my "bucket list" project of learning guitar. If you want to learn classical acoustic or jazz, you may want to find a different instructor- but if you want to learn the basic building block of rock and roll - BLUES - and classic rock, metal and rhythm for nearly all popular music and even worship music - I can't recommend Chad highly enough.

Jeff is tough to please, but he's very impressed with the advanced guitar studies he's undertaken here. He sounds really great. Loud... but great!

Whether you are an experienced player or picking up a guitar for the first time Chad has a plan for you. Unlike other guitar teachers Chad doesn’t teach you a top 40 song a week and he doesn’t start you out learning simple melodies either. His system is well researched and thought out. It’s organized to offer his students a comprehensive program of fundamentals with which to build a musical foundation.

With these tools and practice his students are able to progress at their own pace and get to where they want to be musically. Recommended for serious students committed to practice and learning.

I have been taking lessons at Palmetto Music for about a year. Chad has a very comprehensive course and customizes it to the student’s needs and desires. The one thing I’m learning, that I did not expect is music theory. When you learn how music is put together you can learn to play quicker. If you want to learn, really learn, the guitar and have fun and be challenged along the way, this is your place and Chad is your teacher.

As a parent, I couldn’t be happier with the progress that Abby’s made with Chad. He isn’t too easy, has high expectations and continues to push in a positive away. I feel like guitar has given Abby an identity and boosted her self confidence. Coincidence or not, her grades have improved greatly since she started playing. I definitely feel like guitar is a gift that will last her a lifetime.
