Very smart lady. She will teach you the very concept on which music is built upon, not just give you information to remember. She will teach you to understand it. She has programs for kids to adults of all ages. If you think that finding a tutor who specializes in a specific instrument is a bad thing, you are wrong. I asked my current tutor a question she had no answer to because all she plays is a violin, so Mary is more knowledgeable then the my current tutor and more experienced.

The reason why i gave her 4 stars is because: I wish she had a gradual cost increase per level. Kinda like school grades, 1-5 grade is basic, 5-10 is advanced and an expert level 10 and up. So you may end up getting to level 4 and quit simply because this is all you want, yet expert students and a beginner student pay the same. I hope you see my point here.

I would suggest to start somewhere else, where you would get the basics covered and then go to her, as she would get you to a whole new level. I my self doing exactly that by taking classes somewhere else thats much cheaper but also very basic. Once i learn as much as i want, i will have an option to get to a professional or expert level taking Mary's classes. Mary did mention agreement.

I guess if you sign up with her, you will agree to a time frame, which is the number of payments/classes. Keep that in mind. You can schedule an appointment with her to just talk things over at no cost. There she will evaluate your level and answer what ever questions you may have. I guess bringing your instrument along would be a good idea if you plan on taking classes with her, so she can see what you can and cannot do and pick the best approach to get the best result.

I dont know whats her rate going to be at the time of anyone reading this, but as of today, she quoted me with $60 per lesson, 30 minutes each lesson 4 lessons per month 1 every week basically. Like i said, in my opinion this price make sense if you need an expert training rather then just to learn how to play for your self.
