By providing accessibility to the world of music, we bring people together and help them achieve their musical goals.
Crescendo Academy of Music is the best music school to offer private and group instrumental and vocal lessons from highly qualified teaching artists and performers in Southwest Michigan. The academy provides opportunities for performances in a variety of local venues, lessons in music theory and composition, chamber ensembles, Mando for Kids, and Music Together, a nationally recognized early childhood music program.

Every member of our staff and board values the importance of individualized musical instruction, and every action they take is aimed at making it possible for all who are interested.
To provide the best music classes, Crescendo actively collaborates with community educational, cultural and neighborhood organizations. Our main studios and offices are in the heart of the arts scene in downtown Kalamazoo, the Epic Center. From this central location, Crescendo continues to extend its reach into the surrounding neighborhoods and communities.

I'm blown away by the talent and commitment of this extraordinary musical arts organization! With 42 music teachers and a wide variety of classes offered for all abilities, ages, and instruments, Crescendo Academy is one of the biggest treasures in Kalamazoo. Our daughter takes voice lessons with excellent voice teacher Shannon Scoles (she's also on the faculty at WMU).
I never imagined that Lillie would connect so well with her teacher, and learn so much in such a relatively short time. She looks forward to her lessons each week, and has strengthened her voice, learned new styles, and progress with her passion for singing. Crescendo Academy has deeply impacted our family. Beyond that, I am always in awe of this non-profit organization.
There are scholarships for students, a plethora of options for private instruction, group ensembles, and even music classes for littles. You'll find that the faculty is highly regarded, and boasts many musicians you'll recognize from the KSO and other musical organizations. April, who is the operations manager, is a connector, a genius at matching students with faculty, and planning all kinds of events (like art hop!).
Even seeing her will bring a smile to your face - she's the epitome of a friendly face of a beloved organization. Take your kids to Crescendo. Get yourself involved. You'll be glad you did!

For the past four years my daughters have taken lessons at Crescendo and we have nothing but positive things to say about this organization. Luke Cook, cello teacher, not only is exceptional at teaching but he also has a way with kids that makes them want to do their best. Joanna Steinhauser and Darren Chan are great on the violin too. They are patient, yet firm and encouraging.
