The Community Music School of the Piedmont has been in operation in Virginia since 1994. We provide a huge array of group classes, ensemble programs, personal instruction, and music therapy. In addition, we supply a range of scholarship opportunities to qualified students. As outreach, all performances are free to the public.

From Our Website
You make it possible for us to accomplish our mission to provide high quality music education and performance opportunities for all members of our Piedmont community. Laura Cullinane is our CMSP faculty member teaching general music, chorus, and strings at the Charter School. As with so many of our faculty, she rallied and rose to the challenge for her students. Here is their end of year Chorus performance which was recorded individually by each student in their homes and mixed by Laura. The chorus regularly sings The National Anthem at the Upperville Horse Show, so add that to the disappointments to be coped with.
The Community Music School of the Piedmont (CMSP), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, offers a wide range of individual and group lessons, ensembles, community outreach projects. CMSP's mission is to provide high quality music instruction and performance opportunities that are affordable and accessible for all members of our Piedmont community. CMSP is most grateful to the churches who kindly share their space with us! Beginning with the generosity of Trinity Church, our space sharing model has evolved and expanded over the years, enabling us to keep our occupancy expenses to a minimum, while at the same time funding a generous scholarship program.
