The Boston School of Music Arts was established a highly experienced local music educator and performer with over 30 years of teaching and 35 years performance experience, and his wife, a performing artist and business professional for more than 35 years.

They are passionate about bringing high-quality music education, inspiration about music and music performance to as broad a population of children and adults as possible.

As a solo multi-instrumental instructor with a long waiting list, that mission became harder to achieve, so in 2010, they decided to expand, and opened The Boston School of Music Arts in the eclectic and diverse area of Dorchester’s Lower Mills, right near the Milton border.

We offer private lessons in Voice, Piano, Guitar, Violin, Drums, Bass Guitar, Saxophone, Trumpet, Clarinet, Flute, Viola, Cello, Trombone, Accordion, and more, as well as ensemble and band classes, music theory, professional performance workshops – all for beginners through professionals.

We use specialized materials – customized to each students’ needs. Our teachers are experienced teachers, and in-demand performers, who LOVE to teach. They receive further support and teaching instruction from the Co-Founder/Music Programs Director. They are extensively background checked prior to employment, as we value the safety of our students.

Learning to play Saxophone, Clarinet or Flute can be one of the most fun ways to study music. Producing a very broad range of sounds, woodwinds take great skill and are fun to play. Oftentimes, the excitement of the instrument gets a student to purchase a saxophone or clarinet or flute, and then, after weeks, months or years of self study. Taking saxophone, clarinet or flute lessons from an experienced teacher, who is also a professional player, can ensure that you learn things impossible to teach without active feedback.

You may find that learning to play the guitar can be one of the most fun ways to study music. So much great music can be played while strumming a guitar. You've probably already seen that there are so many "learn guitar fast online" sites these days that you can get started that way. One common problem is - how do you know when you've done it right - or wrong? Well, that is something only a good teacher can help you with. Our guitar lessons cover the fundamentals, as well as teaching you how to play the songs that YOU love!

Our Voice Lessons department has two major sub-departments: Our Professional Voice Program, where we work with professional singers and aspiring pros of all ages, including professional public speakers, and our General Voice sub-department, where we work with absolute beginners as young as 5 or 6, who are non pros. In the professional program, in addition to helping our pros find their true voice, we also help singers looking to enhance their sound in choir, or those "dreaming" of a singing career.

Without rhythm, there is no music. Drums and percussion are the foundation of any band orchestra.
