Did a wonderful job on my old Martin guitar. There was a long wait due to a heavy backlog of work however once I was called to bring my guitar in it was repaired within days.

Such a gem of a store in the heart of Catonsville! William was so patient and resourceful while I was shopping. I ended up getting a GS mini and I couldn't have been happier with my purchase. I even brought it back the day after and Emory adjusted the action for me and made sure I felt comfortable with it. Overall a very pleasant experience and will be back again!

Picked up my first ukulele here! I've never played a ukulele before, so I went into the store not knowing what I would leave with. Thankfully, they showed me all the types of ukuleles, the differences among them, and played all of them. I asked if they would recommend one for me since I really didn't know what to look for as a beginner, and they were so helpful and gave me some options!

They helped me pick out a tuner as well and showed me how they work. I am so excited to learn how to play, and I'm really happy I chose this shop to get my new instrument! They even said that if anything happened where I would need new strings, they have some to purchase and can put them on and show me how to do it. They were so helpful, and it made me feel less intimidated to start learning a new instrument. 10/10 recommend to anyone who wants to shop from a large selection of inventory and to anyone wanting help to pick something out. Thanks so much!

Experienced music shop with a great team! I've always been skeptical of buying guitars online - especially older guitars, but I had a GREAT experience with Tim and the Appalachian Bluegrass team. I recently purchased a 38 year old Taylor guitar online from Appalachian Bluegrass. Tim was available before my purchase to answer my questions, and their guitar tech kindly went through the guitar one more time before it shipped.

The guitar was shipped fast, packed carefully, and arrived as described. The action is spot on and it plays like a dream! I'm very happy with my purchase and my experience with Appalachian Bluegrass Shoppe. I'll definitely be back for another guitar soon for my collection. Thanks again! -Dillon

Bought a Deering banjo. Had read some reviews about questionable packaging with instruments. Not a problem at all for me. Substantial padding. Dealt with Tim and he was awesome. Would definitely do business with them again.

Best acoustic music store in the area. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I have bought several instruments from here at various price points and each one is fantastic. I have taken lessons and had guitar repair/maintenance work performed here, as well. Also just a fun store to browse! Highly recommend.

Great local resource for guitars and other stringed instruments. I had such a positive experience. Tim and Bill were patient, extremely knowledgeable and helped me make a great decision on a new guitar. Cannot say enough about these guys! My fingers are about to fall off playing my new guitar!

Beautiful shop with quality instruments. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. They were very willing to answer our myriad questions patiently and graciously. Since we had come a pretty good distance, one staff member offered to work on my autoharp then and there to keep us from having to make a extra trip a week later. I had purchased a guitar and also classes in the past, and have only good to say about this music shop.

Look here first before the chain stores.for quality, atmosphere, a personal touch, and to keep wonderful small businesses, with character like Appalachian Bluegrass alive and thriving!

This place rules and is a wonderful acoustic shop. I drive 30 miles to go every time and it's worth it. One of the best mandolin selections right outside the DMV. And they are a certified Taylor warranty repair shop - they took care of everything for me. It was all transparent. I dropped a broken guitar off and received it fixed a week later. They have resonators, ukes, fiddles, and acoustic amps. Came back to edit this post: it's worth the drive from wherever you are if you are thinking about going to GuitarMart (i.e., Guitar Center).
