The lessons here are very good quality. I've been taking guitar lessons with Scott, and I have also been taking vocal lessons as well with Claire. Both are amazing teachers that now how to teach their material and I have improved astonishingly with their help. The school here is also very versatile, with the guitar teachers teaching classical, rock, jazz, pop, and other genres of music for the guitar. The singing lessons are also amazing and my ear has been better trained and I am better at catching my mistakes now and controlling my volume and such.

Feels like home. My children have been taking lessons here for over 4 years (piano). Teachers are caring and talented. They celebrate the students' achievements and meet each person where they are at. They cater learning to make it fun and effective with personal games, stickers, etc! With 3 kids taking at the same time I saw that no two lessons were ever the same: the teachers cater to each individual :) Definitely recommend Anderson Musik. Very accomodating scheduling, respectful place to be.

My 10 year old has been taking guitar with Scott. She has made tramendous progress and absolutely loves to come. Scott somehow has a way with kids so that they enjoy the lessons. I too have been taking lessons there with Joe for a while. Joe is very knowledgeable and very skilled player. I would recommend Anderson music to anyone. Fantastic atmosphere where you just want come and play.

My kids have been students at Anderson for several years, we have had a great experience. The teachers are amazing and the schedule is very flexible. The annual student concerts are fantastic as well, the kids love showing off what they have learned. We definitely recommend Anderson.

Anderson Musik is a gem. The teachers are talented and caring. Not only will they help improve the student's ability but they are also encouraging and positive. Receiving instruction here has helped my child remain enthusiastic about playing through the age we're kids typically loose interest. Scheduling is flexible, rates are competitive and you often see multiple generations of a family, as well as learners of all ages.

6 years ago I started playing guitar here, and have since then improved very much and continued to come every week! The owner Scott is a fantastic person and amazing teacher. I haven't taken lessons with the other teachers, but I have to say what nice and welcoming people they are! I will continue to come here for as long as possible, and I suggest that everyone trying out an instrument too! No matter what skill level you will always find a place here and be able to further improve on yourself. Be sure to come here for your lessons!

Scott (owner) is very experienced. He is accommodating and helpful. This institution has been here for a few years already, so they know what they're doing. My son takes trumpet and Connor is very patient and professional. This would be the best place to start kids and adults to learn and appreciate music.

Our kids have been taking music lessons at Anderson music for a while now. They have been progressing nicely and most of all feel comfortable with the teachers and enjoy their time there. Scott has always been kind and accommodating to our needs and I have recommended him to all my friends.

Excellent resource for music Lessons! My son Studies with Scott and My daughter studies with Jeremy. Both are total pros who know how to encourage, inspire and instruct. This is a great and relaxed environment for instruction. The prices are very reasonable and it's nice to be able to bring both of my kids to one place for their respective instrument instruction. Highly recommended!

I took piano lessons at Anderson Musik over the past year and half (after 15 years of not playing) and I had a lot of success with it. I really liked my instructor, Trevor. He taught me a lot of useful improv-jazz techniques and how to read classical sheet music better. I noticed some older negative reviews about the owner. He's not a bad guy. I gave 4 stars because I think they need one more upright piano in the shop for the students when they are at full capacity. All in all, it's a great place to learn piano/guitar/drums/etc

Scott is awesome. I will be taking lessons from him. He takes the time to access you and the first lesson is free. Check him out and the shop. You won't regret it.

Took piano lessons here while growing up in Northbrook. Wish I had more time to play now as an adult. But this was one of the single most valuable investments my parents were able to afford for my future. Taking piano lessons is one of the things that I look back at with the most fondness. I didn't much care for performing in front of others, but privately I enjoy playing very much.

I would very much recommend that if you or your child is looking to take music lessons of any type - check this place out. Mr. Anderson always treated my family and I very well and runs a great business doing something it is obvious that he is passionate about. Very family oriented and fun place to play music.

Scott Anderson is only out to get your money. Seriously. I had purchased ten 1hour lessons. I had started a few lessons with him and each time he would be watching the storefront at the same time. Anytime a customer walked in he leaves to help them and i'm left in the room by myself. I've paid for the full hour. He never offers to make up that time.

I let it slide for the first few lessons, but I couldn't take it anymore because he was gone for a whole half hour. I finally spoke up about it and asked him why he doesn't have someone else mind the store front for him while he's busy with a student. I paid for the full hour and I'm getting ripped off here. He said, and I quote "can't you give me a break? I'm short staff".

I told him I understood, but I don't want to be the one losing out on my lessons and I'm not a philanthropist. After that altercation I told him that I want my money back for the remainder of my lessons because I don't feel comfortable with him as my instructor anymore. He said it was against policy to give my money back and suggested I went with another one of his instructors. I ended up just using up the rest of my lessons with another one of his hired instructors. Never returned after that.

You would think a business that has been around for so long would be getting much more online support than a handful of yelp reviews. I must have caught the owner on a bad day or something, I found him to be very rude and condescending. As another yelper complained, this is not the place to try to seek out parts. Having DECADES of guitar repair experience, I don't need some hot head arguing with me what value potentiometers belong in a early 1970's Les Paul.

I know that brick and mortar music stores are the wrong place to go for replacement parts in this day in age, but sometimes you want to get a project done today and call around the local shops. To me, this seems like a place that just wants to cater to clueless parents and their young children and doesn't want anything to do with serious musicians.

Scott the president of Anderson music is one of the best music teachers around. You will be greeted with a very cordial atmosphere every-time you enter the institute. They share a very pleasant relationship with their students. Scott has amazing patience with new students and I personally think has set up great traditional values with the classes.

He would go out of way to accommodate me during off hours and on many an occasions spent extra time with me to help me understand the lessons. Elsa is very friendly with people and would fit me in at odd schedule hours many a times. To add up to all of it, students are offered free lessons to start and help made a decision if they are interested. At any opportunity I would personally recommend this institute without hesitation and highly appreciate all the help provided to me with learning my lessons so far.

Our two daughters took an interest in music: our 7 year old guitar and the 9 year-old piano. I dont know why, at first, I was kind of skeptical of Anderson, but after 2 months, we could not be happier with the teachers or atmosphere. Both our daughters love their teachers -Scott for guitar and Mila for piano. We originally considered private lessons, but again couldnt be happier -would strongly recommend here.

My son is currently enrolled at Anderson Musik and we are very happy with the shop as well as the teacher, James. The prices are better than most (you get a free lesson just to try them out) and the customer service is impressive. We were going to another shop for the first few months of the school year and that was turning into a disaster as the teacher was inconsistent and had difficulty showing up for our pre-arranged time slot (he was coming in from "the city" to Deerfield and always had an excuse due to train problems) This made me search out a new place and I found Anderson Musik almost by accident. It's an extra few minutes drive to get there, but worth it in my opinion.

Our current instructor, James, is fantastic! We love him! He is great with my son. He gives him a lot of encouragement, challenges him with new assignments and has the patience of a saint from what I can tell. Very Zen. Plus, he is ALWAYS ON TIME! (he even spends extra time with my son if he has a cancellation after our time or we get there early, which is fantastic) As for the shop, the owner (I think) Elsa is fabulous.

Very friendly and chatty, she makes sure that there is always fresh coffee brewing and some type of baked good to keep the siblings happy along with lots of magazines and coloring supplies to make the waiting time fly by. It is clean and friendly. I love this shop so much that I am going to send our other son there for trumpet instruction this coming school year, as well as rent his instrument from Anderson Musik (say goodbye to that other Deerfield shop!) A great choice for music instruction!
