Try our fresh approach to piano instruction that combines a strong foundation in music theory, intervallic reading, learning note names, as well as ear training and improvisation. Piano, the "master instrument, " creates a solid foundation for studying other instruments as well. We use multiple learning strategies to help students experience success from the beginning and for continued skill development. Our full-time staff of caring, degreed music teachers will tailor lessons to each student's learning style and needs.
Very young students will learn the most basic fundamental singing skills: breathing, posture, support, and vocal blend. These skills will help them maintain good vocal health for a lifetime. They will also develop some basic music-reading skills. We are happy to provide an assessment lesson to assure that the very young singer shows readiness and that they have a positive first experience with music lessons.
Try our fresh approach to guitar instruction that combines a strong foundation in music theory, reading music, as well as ear-training and improvisation. Guitar students will learn both melody, single-note, or "lead guitar" playing, as well as learning chords and strumming patterns, or "rhythm guitar" playing.
At Allegro, our classes are formed at your request! You simply give us your interest and availability; when there are 4-6 students with similar ages, experience, and availability we form the class--just for you! Most classes can begin within 1-4 weeks of your request. Group instruction can be a great way to get an introduction for the very young, unsure, or inexperienced student. It can also provide a social environment for sharing and enriching what developing musicians are learning in private lessons.

Baby Shark Escape Room was a bit hit with my kiddos! Highly recommend as a fun and educational outing that will have the kids dancing and singing the rest of the day!

I was taking lessons at Allegro before it even existed. I've known Jodi since I was in middle school, when she first started helping me so I could get over my performance fears in Solo and Ensemble and to be skilled enough for Hilliard Darby's choral program. She cares about teaching and helping you grow. She understands everyone's skills and goals are different.

You won't have the exact same plan as the person in the next room, but it means you're growing the way you should in order to succeed. After I was "done" with voice lessons (when I left for college), I took piano lessons. They also offer guitar, small group ensembles and recitals! I've worked with many staff members when I needed to switch my day/time and they are all incredible people. Jodi is very specific when hiring and won't settle for someone who isn't the right fit for the students. I would say voice lessons worked well for me. I sang at Carnegie Hall in 2018. Years of practice and building my skills led me to that stage. Thanks, Jodi!

Excellent instruction!!! They take students with interest to pursue music professionally as well as those taking for self improvement. Wonderful mentoring of the musical mind along with great understanding of motivating and teaching approaches. They can take a student a long way in their musical education.
