I remember begging my mother to sign me up for piano lessons. We did not have a piano, so she rented one, signed me up for lessons, and my journey with music began. My dream was to learn how to play the piano very well as fast as I could. I took piano lessons twice a week, every week for many years, and performed classical repertoires at many recitals, competitions, and concerts.
Keep the piano tuned, and in a good working condition. Make the piano a center of attention - there can be a few pictures of your family or other decorations, but no toys that would create a distraction. If possible, put the piano in an area that your child will see often. Make sure that there is a proper level of lighting.
There will be times when your child will be excited to practice their piano pieces, and eager to show you what they have learned. Then, there will be times when it will be up to you to help them stay on course. And then your child will be motivated and excited to learn more once again. This is true for almost all piano students.
Yes, it is necessary that you or your child have a piano, digital piano or a keyboard at home. It is very important that the piano student can sit and practice their assigned pieces on a regular basis. This is necessary for the student's progress and motivation. While buying a piano is better in the long run, it is a commitment that some parents are not ready to make.

Mrs. Rosie is an excellent piano teacher. My daughter liked her Piano classes very much. She teaches one student per class so the focus, communication and co-ordination with the student is very well. There is a homework every week so the students can practice at home for the rest of the week and play at the beginning of next class. Recitals are awesome. Students have the opportunity to showcase their talent and inspire from others.

As an older piano student with multiple kids it is difficult find time to practice piano, let alone structure a curriculum for advancement. Having learned an instrument in the past I knew the pitfalls of doing it yourself so I contacted Rosie for lessons based on her excellent reviews on yelp. And boy am I glad I did! Rosie is an excellent teacher.
She has the rare talent of providing clear guidance on techniques and correcting improper playing, but never coming off condescending or too strict. I'm amazed at the progress I've made in just a year under her tutelage. Since starting lessons I have been able to completely leave the structure of my lessons/advancement in her capable hands, and simply focus on playing; which as a parent with limited time is invaluable. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to be her student.

My kids have been going to Rosie for a few years now and we just love her! They came in knowing nothing about piano/music and now can play beautifully and read music! Impressed with her patience and great teaching skills! Recommend her to anyone who wants to have their kids learn piano or even learn piano themselves!

Rosie is an excellent teacher. I am an adult student and hadn't played the piano in 30+ years. It was like starting over. In a fairly short period of time I have improved my skills and learned new music genres all while enjoying the piano again. I highly recommend Rosie to anyone interested in music!
